For a lot of people going to some exotic location is only a daydream and the fact that it is Friday and they have a weekend or maybe even a long weekend off, thens that's vacation time.  I've had some really long hours over the past few months so this was me come each Friday, not quite at the walking frame stage yet, but getting closer each day.

I chose an image, in fact it was two images from Beansie Doodles, called Jelly Bean 1 and Jelly Bean 2. The images have been coloured with Copic and Kaisercraft pens, I used a diecut frame for the front, with 3 die cut tulips, inside I used a different coloured designer paper, lots of flowers and a typed sentiment T.G.I.F.,  that means a break from work for most of us, a mini holiday

Challenge # 73 - The Crafters Cafe - Anything Goes

Anything Goes at the Crafters Cafe this week, lets see all your different projects.
Our sponsor for this week is

I used "Ducks in a Row" from A Day for Daisies, placing the image diagonally across my paper I was able to duplicate the image and have it quite long.  I have altered some plastic vitamin jars to keep my small bits and pieces in.

Coloured with Copic Pens, I have added glitter here and there and one of the containers has Candi on it, this was one of the main reasons I decided to decorate the containers, I keep loosing my Candi pieces, not any more though.  I was going to decorate the lid, but then did a second container and I can now stack them and add more. takes up less space on my messy desk.

Sewing Fairy

The image on this card is from Beccy's Place, check out her store HERE.  Coloured with Cool and Warm Greys and a touch of green, the image has been mounted on different designer and glitter papers.

Robyn's Fetish Challenge # 220 - Christmas in July - 13 July, 2014

Our Sponsor this week is Nicecrane Designs
The prize this week as a $20.00 voucher to the Nicecrane Designs Store

Love using vintage images, this is a new site for me, and I am loving everything I see there.
The NiceCrane images I used are called "Vintage Adorable Christmas" there are 4 images to the set and I have used them all.

I have made a small Christmas Tree decoration with all four of the images, not all images are completely coloured, I have also added glitter and liquid pearls to parts of the images.  I was originally going to make a small gift box, but I found this site http://www.templatemaker.nl/.  Check it out, put in your dimensions and you get a template and yes it is free.  So I ended up making a box small enough to be a decoration.  Added some lace, which I coloured with a copic pen, red ribbon and a handmade poinsettia.

Next I made a card, using the sleeping image, the card design was inspired by one I received a couple of months ago in a swap challenge, loved the idea and thought this image would be perfect.  Using Ktraft Card and after lots of measuring and cutting with my Ecraft, I ended up with a template that gave me a 3d window card.

The image has been coloured with Copic, Touch and Kaisercraft pens, mounted on green spotted paper.  Using diecuts and punches I have decorated the window, adding white ink, chalk, liquid pearls and glitter, and a little wooden bird.

Christmas time again

I've spent the last few days putting together some Christmas cards, here is another one for today, the image is from Digis Stamps 4 Joy and is called, Irresistible Bling, have to admit they do look cute in the Christmas Tree.  I have only used Red, Green and Gray for this image, except for a tiny bit of yellow for the Angel's wings.  Glossy Accents have been added to the baubles, and I made a flower for the top corner.

This Christmas card features an image by 'From the Heart' this months freebie.  I've used light gray to give the snowman some dimension, otherwise very little colouring, using non traditional colours for this Christnas card, I have layered designer papers and card stock.  Also used some scalloped circles.

Used a diecutter to cut out the image and to shape the card.  Lots of glitter to the hat band and pom pom, legs, arms (mm! should that be front legs lol) hat bubbles are all on 3d squares.  Cute image to work with, and easy having all the 3D elements already to go.

Challenge # 71 - Crafters Cafe - Think Chick Flick

This weeks theme is Chick Flick - Use a line from your favourite Movie.
Our great sponsor this week is:

I chose digi10301 Owl for my project, he looked a bit peeved! and as one of my favourite movies is "Steel Magnolias" I think it's because I love Shirley Maclaine's character, Ouiser Boudreaux, she has some of the all time great lines ever said in a movie. I chose to use " I'm not crazy, I've just been in a very bad mood 40 years!"

Really as a mother and wife, how many times do you have to say the same thing over and over, we are empty nesters, kids have flown the coop, but still I can't seem to get even my hubby to write down a grocery item that we might be running out of on a shopping list which is on a magnet on the fridge door in plain view.  Don't get me wrong I have lots to be thankful and grateful for, but when someone who will go unnamed is the only person in the house that eats chocolate topping, says "We've got no chocolate topping!"  And I grumble and groan, "Did you put it on the list!" and so the story continues......

So, I have now decorated the holder for the shopping list made it bigger and added the sentiment to see if it catches his eye.  What do you think? has it worked, answer below.

The Owl is all paper piecing,  mounted on some spotted paper.
Still no topping on the list, actually I don't even think he has noticed the Owl lol!  I had better go and put it on the list.

Robyn's Fetish Challenge # 219 - Animals - 6 July, 2014

Our Sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamp Store is offiering the winner 3 images of their choice.

This week I chose to use "Alarm Clock Charlie ", perfect for one of my scrapbooking/art journal/recipe books.  I have two of these books, one for Savoury dishes and one for sweet dished, thet have recipe, pictures, drainging, poems etc and all of our favourite recipes.

The image has been coloured with Copic, Touch and Kaisercraft pens, then cut out.

Some people might say this is Doodling, others might say it is a type of Zentangle and yes there are Zentangle patterns on this page.  To me it is a background with a bit of humour added in.

I see a barn and a variety of crops, I see a dam and a river, even clouds in the sky, but then again I do have a vivid imagination.

Recipe Page, with raindrops on it (all dried out now)
And why you ask do I have a rooster opposite a Beef Curry!  Thats where my weird humour comes in!

No chickens were harmed in the making of this curry
