The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog Hop

I've been on the Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog Design team for 6 months now and very lucky to have been invited to stay another 6 months.I live in Australia with my husband of 42 years (wow now that does make me feel old!), love creating in many forms, sketching, papercrafting, needlework and so the list goes on.  Sometimes my posts will seem a bit late, but I usually wait until I see the current post due to the big time zone differences.
Over the past few days CCCB have been having a blog hop with the new Design Team A, now it's time to introduce Team B.  You should have started the hop on the CCCB blog, that is where you can find the instructions and the entire hop list if you get lost along the way.  Arriving here from Maureen's Blog.    And your next hopping stop should be Alex's

Wicked Wednesday No 90 Challenge - June Weddings

I donb't know too many people that have gotten married in June in Victoria, in fact I only know of one couple and they chose an outdoor wedding, luckily there was a large pergola in the park, The bridal party and all the guests had to squeeze onto the pergola because of the heavy rain, just not a month for good weather here.  So now you can understand my June Wedding ATC, bride needs, rainhat, coat and gumboots as well as her veil and flowers. This little girl is called Melissa 1 and I have coloured her with copic and touch pens, added kindy glitter to her rainhat and gumboots, veil and flowers are stickers.  - My Melbourne June Bride.

Sami Stamps Challenge No 2

Another little 4 x 4 card, great size for giving as a gift card also.  This image is one of the Vegie Summer Fairies and can be found HERE.  It is a freebie and very cute, the number 2 challenge is to add green and yellow stripes.  I've used a striped background paper and then added wider green and yellow stripes. The little fairy is coloured with copic and touch pens and the tomatoes have glossy accents on them.

Something Pink and Pretty

This little cutie is called 'Gemma Gumdrop Sticky Wings' designed by Lacy Sunshine you can find her HERE.  I have coloured her with Copic and Touch pens and added some glossy accent and glitter to her gum drops.  This little card is a fat card (4 inches x 4 inches) if you enjoy making these cute little pages check out Fat-tastic Tuesday, they are all about doing these cute little projects.

This little card has been entered into the following challenges:

Lacy Sunshine Challenge No 11 - Always anything goes
Polka Doodles - Summer Birthday
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Robyns Fetish Challenge - Recipe, Pink, Scallops, a Border and a Bow

Brown Sugar Challenge No 48

This weeks challenge is for a Man/Boy project, I got to use this great digi-stamp from QKR Stampede called "Take a Break", which I also incorporated into the sentiment.  I used some glittery Butterfly Paper for the background which I was able to crop to show a couple of butterflies flying lazily around, the image is coloured with Copic and Touch Pens and I layered it onto some hessian (need a nice soft blanket to rest on), cut out a sun and inked the edges and added a couple of sentiments.   I also added the paper and hessian to the inside with a Happy Birthday note to complete the card.

The Crafters Cafe Challenge No 17, Week 4

Last week of June, and some changes coming to the Crafters Cafe, starting next month some new members to the DT, this week we farewell some members from the current Design Team.  Check out The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog.  They are having a blog hop to introduce their new members and reintroduce some oldies as well.

Another Male card this week or maybe I should make that plural, male cards, these have an image from Fred She Said, it is called  'The Old Truck Digi' and can be found HERE.  This image came both precoloured (4 colours) and as a digital stamp.  I have printed a precoloured image in greytones.  I added a border to the top and bottom, a sentiment and some black and grey buttons, for the inside I printed the old truck several times and typed a verse.

The Crafters Cafe - Male Challenge

Then I decided to play around with some different printing options  and made the following 3 cards, they are a bit smaller than the grey card which is 6 x 4, these ones are about 5.5 x 3.5.

Fat-tastic Tuesday Challenge No 5

Hard to believe we are already up to challenge number 5 at Fat-tastic Tuesday, great place to hang out if you love fat pages (4" x 4"), if you've never tried one, give it ago, great for using up small left over pieces from your stash.  There is a prize for each of the Top 3 plus all winners are invited to be guest designers in the following challenge.

This challenge is all about Red, White and Blue plus metal.  I've used an image by Eureka called Dragon Balloon which can be found HERE.

This is the sketch we are using this fortnight

I've flipped the sketch on its side.  Coloured the cute dragon with copic and touch pens, added a bow and ribbon to him.  Cut and extra wing to give the dragon a 3d effect.  Mounted on Red, White and Blue cardstock, the paper with the round holes was a gift I received some time ago, it has a metallic finish, added some small washes to the holey paper.  I mount the dragon onto some metal mesh with bling on it and then added 2 small white flowers folded in half to complete my fat page.

And because I can be quite fanciful at times, when I had finished and stood back and looked at my page, I could see the Dragon Balloon floating among the clouds over the metal skyscrapers.  Then again maybe I was having a hard day. What do you think?

Lacy Sunshine - Special Anniversary Challenge

I have only recently discovered the cute images of Lacy Sunshine, but the Lacy Sunshine Gang turn 1 this June.  The image on this card was a freebie from the site and I had lots of fun creating a holiday collage with "Eleanor and Pickles camping". Coloured with Copic and Touch Pens, I have created some trees from green cardstock and a car/caravan sticker completed the little picture.

Birds, Nests and Eggs

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week is for Birds, Nests and Eggs.  I've used some
Die cuts and Material Roses to create my Bird ATC. I trimmed the backgound paper down to the right size and only realised after I had put the card together, that I had luckily kept the nest and small bird in the bottom left hand corner, sometimes things just work out.

Buttons

I have a great collection of buttons, some new and lots of old ones.  I came across this challenge and thought it would be good to use some buttons on a picture frame I was altering.  I have used material flowers, wooden heart, clouds, sun and windmill, ribbon and bows.  And of course, lots of buttons.  I don't know who are in the picture, it came with the frame, which is white plastic, very light weight which is great as I am sending this altered picture frame across the world.

Brown Sugar Challenge No 46 - Graduation

The challenge at Brown Sugar this week is Graduation.  I've used an image from Eureka Stamps called Star Cluster which can be found HERE.  I have used the image twice, rotating one image 180 degrees, so that I could cover the front of the card with stars.  Typed a congratulation message on the card and created words from alpha called Pop School found at Lettering Delights.  Cut out the words to stick on the card.  I used lots of different colours and then added bling in different parts.

Fat-tastic Tuesday Challenge No 4 - Father's Day/Natural Elements

A 4 x 4 card for a man to celebrate his birthday/fathers day or just because you love him.

This is the sketch for challenge number 4, Fathers Day/Natural Elements.

The image I've used is called Morris and you can find him at Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps

Morris is coloured with Copic and Touch Pens, mounted on some brown cardstock and green papers.  The buttons are made from wood and the branch and leaves are some from the garden that I have dried, probably a couple of times a year I spend a few hours with my microwave press and dry different leaves, flowers etc.  A printed sentiment completes my fat page.  These little 4 x 4 cards are a great way to use up all those little bits of scraps in your stash. This one has a scrap of dark green and brown cardstock.

Is It Fathers Day?

Not in Australia, we celebrate Father's Day the first Sunday in September, but here is a card for later in the year.  I have used some die cuts from Hot off the Press, made it nice and easy, still getting over jet lag.  Added a Dad sentiment.

The Colour Purple

My Purple card has been made with  images and background paper from the Polkadoodles Sugar Plum Daisy CD.  Think I used just about every purple/mauve colour I had in my Copic and Touch Pen Collection.  Just to be a little different the card opens backwards, like I read the newspapers, used kindy glitter on her wings and flowers.

Black and White

This black and white card has an image from Dilly Beans called Happy Day.  The challenge this week was to use a Dilly Bean image and to make a Black and White project.  I have digitally coloured the image, giving the girl black hair and black eyes with white highlights, mounted image onto a white card, which I had typed a sentiment. Added White liquid pearls to the centres of the flowers and some pearls down the side.

Headstones and Graveyards

I found this epitaph on the internet, whether it is real or not I do not know, but it did give me a giggle.  I've included a close up of one of Anna's ghostly friends.  I've used copic pens to give the tombstone some shading and the grass and banana some colour.
