Notebook

I've been making a few of these altered notebook covers recently,  I give them away to charities for children.  Loved the sentiment on this one, it come from an Imagine That set called "Love Lifts You".  Check out the shop HERE

The kit contains 5 sentiments on the balloons, precoloured and outlined images, also 4 patterned papers, the cloud background is one of those papers.

I needed some printing done, so I had the cloud paper printed professionally, the balloon is hand coloured with copic pens.

Ssssh something happening in February!
I have lots of "Imagine That" projects coming in February

Through The Craft Room Door Challenge

So lucky to have won a Guest Designer spot at "Through The Craft Room Door Challenge"  I was given a lovely rose image from Morgan's World for my project.

I saw a card on pintinerest recently and thought I would give it a go.  The rose has been printed 4 times, each a slightly different size and then coloured with copic pens.

Mounted on a coral coloured cardstock and then onto a pink cardstock for the card.

Playing around with colours and shapes

I am desperately trying to clean out my craft room, the more space you have the more you accumulate.  But I keep finding things in my stash that yell out "Use Me! Use Me!"

I don't even know what colour I would call the card, I'm thinking a warm grey, I added a muted deep mauve to the inside which you can see down the side, as the front is not as big as the back of the card.

Then I found some teal, mauve and lilac card stock and arrange them as diamonds on the card.  I had mauve gems and coloured white pearls with a copic pen.

The image is from Ike's World and is called " SHhhh"  Coloured with copic pens giving her eyeshadow aqua shadings and her hair has been coloured with aqua, mauve and warm grey copics.  Skin tones for the skin and a black copic for the background, image has been cut as have the other colours with a square stitched die.

Silver sentiment and flower, also coloured with a copic pen and bow in her hair  completes the card.

I am disappointed with the photo, it is middle of summer here and the sun is very bright, on the card you cannot see any glue because it is clear, but in the photo you will see lots of it as the glue between all the bling, picked up the reflections of those colours around it.

Vibrant Landscape of Central Australia

The first thing that hits you square between the eyes when you visit Central Australia are the colours, from thew red red earth to the bright azure sky.  Everything takes on a brilliant glow.  This is a photo taken about 18kms from Uluru.  The reds are redder, the oranges more orange.  Has to be an artists dream palette.

On the Street where you live?

This layout features a photo of a main road near where I grew up.  My son tagged me on facebook when he saw it, recently I was telling my children, nieces and nephews how Mum used to walk me to the shops about 4kms away when I was a young child and that there were no footpaths in those day.  I don't think they believed me until they saw this photo.   Mum used to say, but I also walked you home again, not bad for a 4 year (about 8 kms round trip)

Something New

New Year, New year resolutions, new tools, what have you got new this year?  I recently purchased a Sew Easy, mainly for curved and random stitching as I usually use perforated paper for my faux and real stitching.  Yes, too lazy to get the sewing machine out!

The image on this card is called "Sweet Wishes" and it is from Tory Tale.  Very cute, coloured with touch new pens, I distressed the paper edges and added glitter, ribbon and hand stitching using my Sew Easy (first time I have used it.) together with a stamped and punched sentiment to complete my card.

The Crafter's Cafe - Monochromatic - 1/1/2017

Happy new Year to One and All.
Let's Welcome into 2017
Today is the 1st blank page of a 365 page book
Write a good one.

The sponsor this fortnight is

Creative Bug
Prize: 5 images

For this challenge I received "Birthday Dog" and used brown tones. Usually I use ShinHanart Touch pens and/or Copic.  But recently I heard about TouchNew pens, I have heard some negative reports, and statements like you get what you pay for etc.  but always being one to try for myself and I am not a brand following person, sometimes cheaper doesn't mean inferior.  I bought some Touchnews.

I bought the firm tip variety, mainly because I do a lot of small work and like this tip for getting into corners etc.  What I have found is they do not bleed like the other pens I use, they do dry a lot lighter and I loved them for large areas they appeared to go on more evenly.  Saying all that, I am not recommending them, just saying, I like them as an additional pen.  I also like the fact that there is a cheaper pen around for those and there are a lot, that run on tight budgets.

So here is "Birthday Dog" in all his Touchnew glory.

Pearly Sparkles January Challenge - With Thanks

So happy to announce I am now part of the DT at Pearly Sparkles.

This is my first project with the team, featuring Faery Inks "Tottie Fairy Doll and some of her clothes"

After deciding which outfit and accessories I wanted her dressed in, I printed Tottie and coloured her with copic pens and fussy cut.  Layered onto coloured cardstock, I added a butterfly and a diecut tag, with a stamped and diecut sentiment.

Some of the little pearls have been stuck together, to create a little chain on the tag
