I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kristy for her wonderful designs.  They are versatile and always of an amazing quality.  Check out her store HERE.

I have finished with the same design I used on the 1st Feb, although this time I have used the precolured version, layered onto paper from "Steampunk Papers 1"

Gertie Goose Pie

It's nearly the end of February and the end of my Guest designing place for "Imagine That's" Facebook Group for February.  If you haven't joined this group, join up and have lots of fun.  Imagine That Face Book Group.

As you know I love using Kristy's kits and images, for many reasons.  Check out her store HERE.

I can print and colour, print precoloured, I can print an image on a background and use as a mask, I can colour by hand and also digitally and I can create digital pages. ways.

The cute image and papers are from the Gertie Goose Pie.  Now I will be the first to admit, my mind sometimes works in mysterious ways.  When I chose this image, I immediately thought of using her in one of my recipe scrapbooks. (One for savoury and one for sweets) they have drawings, jokes, sketches, images and recipes.  A bit of everything really.

Did I want her for my savoury recipe book, no, when I read the title of the image, my mind said "Gertie Gooseberry Pie" lol.   Gooseberries are difficult to get is Australia now adays, when they are available it is around Christmas Time.  My paternal grandmother introduced my to these berries and Dad and I always had them in pies at Christmas time.  I have added the precoloured versions to an information page in my book, which is very important, now I know where the contact details are kept. No embellishments this book is used in the kitchen.

A Day at the Races

Hubby had to work, so my daughter, son in law, grandson and I went to a country Picnic Race Day.  Wonderful weather, having lots of fun, not winning much and the phone rings  ring ring ring!

Hello says I, "I've cut myself at work" says hubby.   Oh no! (have to explain if my husband rings to say he has cut himself, you know it is bad, REAL bad.  He is driving one handed to hospital, but not the closest because in his frantic rush leave work, he forgot about another hospital closer.

By the time we get to the hospital they are stitching him up, quite a few stitches in fact.  But he is brave even if grumpy by this time, he had a long wait.  He said I'll be OK and drove himself home.   Oh well! think of the money we saved by having to leave early.

These are great for tucking in your bag, the pages are 3.5 x 2.5 inches, the cover slightly bigger. So so easy to make with my Scor-pal, scor the paper and concertina the pages and you are nearly there.

Crafts and Me

Time for another page in my Song Book Album.  The image is called Sparrow and you can find it at Crafts and Me.  I have coloured the image with copic pens and layered it onto to various Stampin Up Papers. Added some die cut birds, leaves and punched flowers to complete the page.

Little Sparrow by Dolly Parton
Little sparrow, little sparrow
Precious fragile little thing
Little sparrow, little sparrow
Flies so high and feels no pain
All ye maidens hede my warning
Never trust the hearts of men
They will crush you like a sparrow
Leaving you to never mend
They will vow to always love you
Swear no love but yours will do
Then they'll leave you for another
Break your little heart in two
Little sparrow, little sparrow
Precious fragile little thing
Little sparrow, little sparrow
Flies so high and feels no pain
If I were a little sparrow
O'er these mountains I would fly
I would find him, I would find him
Look into his lying eyes
I would flutter all around him
On my little sparrow wings
I would ask him, I would ask him
Why he let me love in vain

Travel Journal

Here is a page in may latest travel journal, I started making these a few years back, as I am a collected of bits and pieces where ever I go.  And, then years later can't remember why I picked up the bits of paper and I throw them out.

So, my travel junk journals ere created to hold my memories o the trip.  Lots of drawings, writing, colouring etc etc whatever takes my fancy.

This is a page was started with digital stamps from Make It Crafty, I have used the "Australian Outback Elements" collection, for memory I think there is about 15 different elements (rocks, roads, horizons etc)in the kit. You just use the elements to create your own scene, perfect for my trip to Central Australia.

Coloured with a mixture of watercolour paints, pencils, copics and pens.  There is also some diecuts, photos and notes on the page.  I do not know if it is finished yet, When the book is completed (nearly) I will then go back and see if I want to add anything to each page.  Love junk journaling.

The Crafter's Cafe - Recycle Something 1st Feb'17

Our sponsors for the Crafter's Cafe challenge are
Mari's Digis
Prize is 3 images  (the same 3 that the DT has used)
and
Dr Digi

I have used two of the  Mari's Digis, that are part of the prize this fortnight.

I love Embroidery and Rain Love.

I recycled a picture frame for "I Love Embroidery".  Printing the image twice, once on patterned paper and then on cardstock ready for colouring with copic pens.

Fussy cut and layered onto the patterned paper .  I have added tiny gems to the pins and placed wool in the workbag.

To the frame I have added chipboard and wooden buttons, tape measure, snaps and a needle threader.  To the outside of the glass I have added two tiny dragonflies, wooden scissors and dressform.

To continue the pattern on the paper outside to the frame I have added flowers and leaves to complete the frame. (leaves from Flourish with a Bling)

I have been slowly cleaning out my craft room and came across an old canvas that one of my grandchildren had been practising on quite a long time ago.

I covered it canvas with patterned paper.  Then used handmade papers for the background and the verse.
The image has been coloured with copic and touch pens, then fussy cut and layered onto paper with 3d strips, the umbrella has been printed and coloured again and layered on as a second layer.

Clouds, rain drops, flourish, flower, leaves and mushroom are all from "Flourish with a Bling".

Finished of with strips of crystals from my stash.

One will go on the wall of our laundry along with other little frames with quotes and this recycled canvas will hang in my craft room.

This month's sponsor is D'ecosse's Dynamite Doodles, I love working with Lisa's designs, it was 37 degrees celsius here, the day I chose this cool kit.  I chose "A Mix of Winter 2 Patterned Paper Mini Kit", which has 6 great papers.

Created a bit of magic with one of the papers, "snow covered"  The photos my daughter took were very dark, so I used the snow covered paper as a mask, not only did it lighten the photo, but also highlighted the snow.  I then used the patterned paper as frames, paper strips and Title tile.  I made a crystal blue heart to complete the page.  This little man has become quite grown up in the last 5 years.  lol haven't they all.
