I am going to be doing tutorials for
Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog on the first Friday of each month.
Leave me a comment if there is anything in partuicular for which you would like instructions. If I know how, I will create a tutorial.
Silk Screen Card
Supplies
Card stock 1 piece 8 inches x 12 inches
Card stock in
contrasting colour 8 pieces 2½inches x 6½inches
Label Punch
Edge Punch
Glue / double sided
tape etc. (use what you are familiar with)
Images - I have used:
Scarey Pumpkin; Bearly a Pumpkin Pumpkin Border;
Pumpkin Border 2; Pumpkin Magic
Taking the 8 inch x 12 inch piece of card stock, use your
edge punch down one long side
Next, using the long straight edged side against the top of your scorer, score at the 3, 6 and 9 inch measurements.
Make Valley, Mountain, Valley folds (see photo - this is how you card should look once folded)
Using a boner or scissors, handle flatten the fold lines.
Use
a Label punch (mine is from Stampin' Up) and I like it for these cards
as the outside is exactly the same measurement as each section of the
card. You need to line up your punch vertically even to the sides of
the section you are cutting AND you need to insert the card stock,
halfway into the punch.
Punch each of the 4 sections to create the legs.
Here is your basic silk screen card completed. We have a patterned top and 5 legs.
Please note: I have changed to an orange card for the remainder of the tutorial.
Legs are the same but this one shows a different top edging.
Once you have the basic shape created, you can start to decorate.
Using the 8 pieces 2½inches x 6½inches adhere to each of the panels, both sides.
This is how it should look on both sides when standing
Now for some images. This photo shows both sides of the card.
Tip Time
You
will notice the pumpkins do have white sections that I have not cut
off. I do a lot of fussy cutting, but sometimes, as with the stems and
leaves, if fussy cut there is a good chance the parts will fall off.
So
once I have adhered the images, I use a fine pen, could be a
Sharpies/Staedtler, whatever I happen to have. I colour those white
parts and this is the result.
Another Tip
If
you are trying to line up something try doing it upside down. I learnt
this trick many many years ago. If you want to copy a drawing, a font
etc, do it upside down. I do not know the scientific reason, but it has
something to do with the brain then concentrating on the placement/
lines etc., not the actual image/embellishment.
And here is my Halloween Silk Screen Card completed.
Happy Halloween!
Give this design a try. It is really simple!
