Brown Sugar Challenge No 44 - Masculine Birthday.

I was able to use a Kenny K image called Anime Soccar for this Birthday card, you can find it and lots of other great images HERE.  I've coloured the image with copic and touch pens, printed words and alphabets, cut out stars and added a paper clip with a number on it.  I have used this template for Christmas cards, I decorate them to look like Christmas Trees, often sticking a little dot of velcro inside so they can stand up, this time I used the paperclip.  Easy to make, they do need a large envelope due to the shape when closed.  First picture is showing the card before it is decorated, the final picture gives you some idea of how to make these cards.

Brown Sugar Challenge No 42 - Pink, Yellow and Orange

Colour challenge this week at Brown Sugar.  I got to play with a Bugaboo image called, "Edward Springtime" which you can find HERE.  I chose this digital stamp, because I thought Edward would look great in pink.  I sort of went wild with the colours, but had a lot of fun,I cut around the image, which included the two little butterflys that I cut out and stuck onto the image for a 3d effect.  Added lots of coloured cardstock, butterflys and some fun bright words.I had in mind to use it a a cheer up card for someone.

A Gift for my Sister

I love doing Hybrid scrapping, digital and traditonal blend really well.  I usually add them to Scrapbooks, but here is another way I use my digital scrapping, this photo is a present for my sister, I have given her one for each of her grandchildren, this is her youngest granddaughter, which I am giving to her on Sunday (mothers day) as she rarely gets to see her grand-daughters as they live in another state.

Here is my digitally altered photo, I have used many elelments to create a little world she has just discovered. Added a flower to her hair, a heart button to her cardigan, a ladybird in the corner, lots of different things have been added.  Here are the steps I took to create the magically framed photo for my sister.

Entered into the challenge at Try it on Tuesday - Female and Fancy

Next step, is to decorate the matting, distressed with ink, added stickers, flowers, butterflies, leaves and a fairy.  Have to keep everything small as all go under glass.
Here is a close-up of the bottom left hand corner with the fairy.
Here is the photo in the frame
And a close-up of the bottom right hand corner, remember I mentioned I had added a ladybird to the photo, couldn't really see her very well once framed, so to add an extra dimension I have added a ladybird on top of the glass, bringing the photo out of the frame.

Hope you like this project, I always have great fun making them.

The Crafters Cafe Challenge NO. 16 Week 2

What a lot of wonderful entries this month for the Mothers or a Female challenge., here is another fun card I have made using images from Rick St Dennis, love his images.  You can find these ones here.

Image on the front of the card is  "Denise the Artiste" and inside I put "Artemis the Sunday Painter".

I just sat back and had some fun with colours on this card, as you can see some of it matches and some of it possible clashes, added flowers, brads, and a bit of bling, this will be the one I give to Mum on Sunday,  The sentiment inside reads "To the worlds No. 1 Mum, from your No. 1 Masterpiece."  I am the first born so I think I can claim to be No. 1.lol.

Sun and Surf ATC

Wicked Wednesday challenge this week is for a Sun and Surf ATC, not sure where I got this image, she is called "beachybum" and she is starting to get sunburnt watching those surfers catch those waves, I think the bows say it all.

Wicked Wednesday - Sun and Surf

Music Music Music

This was a fun idea, The Paper Shelter challenge this week was called Music Maestro, I have used an image called 'Tuba Girl' by Beyond the Fringe, Carmen has some great freebies. Printed out the image twice and coloured one with copic and touch pens, used a fair bit of '0' to give her jeans a washed look.  Cut out the girl and her tuba, and then put the other copy through the embosser with a musice sheet embossing folder.  I then coloured the musical notes, which are part of the image with copics, which ran a bit, but that was OK, because she is only learning a lot of her notes are wonky anyway, I can still remember my Mum and Dad when I was learning the recorder, wonder they can still hear.  Mounted the girl with 3d squares and then added the Happy Birthday words printed on the same pink cardstock as the card.

Entered into The Paper Shelter - Challenge 110 - Music Maestro.

Brown Sugar Challenge No 40

It's May, it's Mothers Day.  Although we seem to celebrate Fathers Day in different months around the world, Mothers Day falls on the 2nd Sunday in May for us all.  And that is the challenge at Brown Sugar this week.  My card has an image from Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps and is called Flowers for Mom, and can be found here. I thought the name was also a great sentiment for the card as well.  I have coloured this little girl with copic and touch pens and used 3d squares to mount her on some layered designer papers, with one of the papers I have punched out a row of small flowers and added a gem to each one, added some sticker flowers as well.

Photo Inspiration at 613 Avenue Create

Learnt something new this week, Cinco de Mayo is spanish for 5th May,(the birthday of my granddaughter and a little fellow I know who is turning 1 this year.) is a celebration held in the United States and regionally in Mexico, commemorating freedom and democracy during the American Civil War.  Thats what a google search told me.  613 Avenue Create gave us a photo for inspiration

So now I can speak a very little spanish and I know about a great colourful celebration.  I had an image I had coloured some time ago from Stitchy Stamps called 'Don't drink and drive' which I think is appropriate, he has got a bottle of Tequila in his hand and I associate that with Mexico.  For inspiration from the photo I used watercolour paints on some paper doilies, very very carefully, because they started to rip, when I dried them they curled up at the edges which gave me some frills, I layered them on gold cardstock and then onto an orange glossy card.  Wrote a little sentiment.  This card will be going into my year of celebrations junk journal I am doing this year.
Entered into 613 Avenue Create Challenge No 17 - Anything goes - Photo Inspiration

Blue

Lacy Sunshine challenge this fortnight is Monochrome and I naturally chose to work with blue, my favourite colour.  I have coloured Lacy Sunshine's 'Daffodils' image with Copic and Touch pens, coloured some paper lace blue, a few gems and added a typed sentiment all mounted on a designer blue and white paper.  A clean and simple card to tell you I'm missing you.

Entered into:
Lacy Sunshine - Monochrome
Robyns Fetish No 157 - Stripes or Dots

Pink

Dilly Beans challenge this week was to Think Pink, and as that colour had been on my mind for the past couple of weeks, I thought I would make an ATC.

Pink is the colour for Breast Cancer Research, it was also the favourite colour of a beautiful young woman that we knew growing up who sadly passed away recently.

Pink is also often the colour given to Mothers on Mothers Day and on a lighter note, I am going to see Pink when she is performing in Melbourne in August.

The image I've used is called Girl and Butterfly by Dilly Beans.  Coloured with Copic Pens, I've made a little pink crown for her and mounted on pink and patterned cardstock.  She is my Pink Dancing Queen.
