Brown Sugar #174 - Use Pearls - 27 Nov, 2015

Our sponsor this week is

Sassy Studios

Always pretty and cute images I chose  "Mad Hatter Buttercream Babe" for my card.  She has been coloured with Copic Pens and I kept well away from pinks and instead went with and apricot/green combo.

White pearls have been added to the trellis pattern on the cake and apricot coloured pearls to the base.  Scalloped cut and layered onto orange cardstock and green patterned paper.  Little tag and sentiment complete the card.

I typed a sentiment for the inside.

Santa and Mrs Claus

These delightful images are new to Robyn's Fetish Digi Stamps and More.  Hop on over to the store as there is a sale going on!!!!!

I was going to use Santa and Mrs Claus on one card, but after colouring them with copic pens and doing some fussy cutting, I decided that they each deserved to have their own cards.  Adding some liquid pearls, to Santa's beard and Mrs Claus' hand muff.  Lots of Kindy Glitz (Aussie product) to their clothes to complete the images.

I pulled out my Christmas stash box and found the red music paper, added some silver ribbon and some glitter sentiments to complete the cards.  Oh! I nearly forgot, glossy accents has been added to Mrs Claus' glasses.

Welcome to our next challenge

Our sponsor for this week is
THE CUTTING CAFE
http://www.thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/
PRIZE: 3 sets of the winner’s choice from THE CUTTING CAFÉ STORE

I chose "Harvest Wreath", a cutting file for my Autumn coloured card.  Used my Ecraft to cut the shapes and mount them onto black cardstock to make a gate card, or maybe I should call it a door card.  The wreath which comes with the file has been coloured with copic pens, fussy cut and attached on one side with 3d hexagons.  I have also added a luminescence gold pen and liquid pearls to the wreath.

But wait there is more, I am officially 8 days away from the start of Summer, so Autumn is nowhere in my line of vision, so I thought why couldn't I have an Autumn coloured.............................

Christmas card.  Inside, using offcuts from the different papers used to create the doors, I have made a Christmas tree and bauble.  The wreath works well as we do have wreaths on our doors at Christmas time.

Another great challenge at The Crafter's Cafe this fortnight.

Simple theme CAS card with food or drink theme.  I chose "Sweet Jar" from Bugaboo for my CAS card.

I printed the image and the sentiment onto a card blank.  Then printed the image again, which I coloured with Copic and touch pens, fussy cut and layered onto the card with 3d squares.

Printing on the card first makes it easier to fussy cut the image, all the squiggly lines etc show through.

from the AURORAWINGS STORE

I have used "Little Kitsune Anko" from Aurora Wings for my card this week, colouring her with copic and touch pens, I fussy cut the image then layered it onto some black cardstock.  Then fussy cut again.

I have used a flower and branch embossing folder, colouring a few flowers with copic, which means the colour goes through the card, instead of cover it up, I also coloured the reverse side.  From the front the flowers are falling down, on the inside of the card, they are growing up.  Added a silver sticker sentiment to complete the card.

Christmas Card with Melonheadz

I was lucky to win a Melonheadz prize recently and I chose "My Ugly Christmas Sweater".  I loved every piece of the set, especially the little story.  I can remember story books when I was young that put pictures in place of words, and I still think they are the most gorgeous little pieces of words.

This time round, I put the poem on the front of the card and one of the little girls from the set on the inside, layered onto a coloured piece also from the kit, a bit back to front, but I have a friend who is going to love this concept also.  She is also a great knitter and will get a great laugh from the card.

I have digitally coloured the pictures in the poem, used precoloured images for the inside, adding loads and loads of glitter to the little girls sweater.

Mounted scene onto purple graph patterned paper and then onto aqua cardstock.  I am really loving this colour combo.
