Oh I do love to be beside the seaside

The image on this card is from Digi Darlas and is called "Beach Retreat" look for it and other images HERE.
The card inspiration came from some current challenges.

All I have done is colour the stripes on the chair and the beach ball and did some faux stitching around the image.

I love Coffee

This little card came about because of a challengee at Addicted to CAS, the theme this fortnight has been Coffee, either the colour or maybe a cup of coffee etc.  Now, I drink black coffee, and I did think about a black and white card, but came up with this instead.  The only colouring is the mug and it has been coloured with a copic pen  Typed some words and hand wrote Enjoy, It is a card where a lot of us would sign and leave messages.  I also added a sentiment sticker, because if you are retiring there should be lots of FUN.

Autumn is coming

Yes, Autumn begins on Saturday here, the weather will get cooler from now on, saying that, we have superb Autumns in Victoria, nature turns on her golden hue, we should get warm days with the mornings and evenings cooler though.

This little girl has her warm clothes on which what reminded of the cooler weather.  Some of you will know the image, I don't, it was given to me to colour when I was doing some copic classes some time ago and I have been meaning to use and kept forgetting.

Anyway, she is coloured with copic pens and I have used two different greens and yellow cardstock for the card.  White pearls, which I have also colourd with copics and a yellow flower with orange and yellow glitter.

Thought she would make a cute card for a male birthday, used striped and green cardstock for the background, a sentiment and 3d squares to lift image of the page.  Coloured with copics.

Baby card with a difference

I suppose a bit of history about this card might help make sense of what I do when a second or third addition to the family arrives.  I learnt this when our Daughter was born, one of my Aunty's arrived with not only a present for her but also for our son, explaining that he should not be forgotten at this time.

This is a practice that I then started with family and friends, a baby gift is always accompanied with gifts for the siblings.  Hence my Hello! Baby Sister Card.

The image is a vintage one called Little Girl out on a Limb" which I have digitally recoloured.  Mounted together with gems and a typed sentiment and bow.

Inside is a Poem (it is a very old poem, but I don't have any clues to the author)

A Baby came to our house,
Not very long ago,
And Father says we'll keep her here
'Cause Mother loves her so.
I didn't understand at first,
My heart felt very sore.
It seemed to me that Mother
Wouldn't love me any more.

But Mother took me in her arms,
Just as she used to do,
And told me that a Mother's heart
Was big enough for two,
And that she loved me just the same,
Because of this, you see,
The place I have in Mother's heart
Is always kept for me.

I chose Grumpy Fae by Aurora Wings this week for my Fairies, Elves, Sprites or Pixies project this week.  I loved her little grumpy face.  The project is a gift tag, maybe for someone not feeling well, or someone that needs a little cheering up.

She has been coloured with copic/touch pens.  To her hair I have added die cut leaves and blue liquid pearls.  Glitter to her wings and the mushroom.  Her shoes have been coloured with glitter and liquid pearls, every good  Fae deserves pretty shoes.  Mounted on designer and pink cardstocks.  I became a little poet and typed the sentiment.

Digitally Sweet Challenge - Photo Inspiration

I found this great challenge site the other day where they accept digital work, couldn't resist this weeks theme.

Photo Inspiration
It actually reminded me more of a retro look than vintage, I'm pretty vintage myself and this looked a lot younger than me. lol.

I have used a kit from Retro Designs, I am on her DT team and this is one of her older kits called "Tea Time", it's not available at this time, but check out Helen's store at Retro Designs Store.  There are wonderful digital kits and elements available.

I confess the photo is of my hubby and I at a wedding about 12 months ago, they had a photo booth set up so that all the guests could dress up and have their photos taken.  You got 2 copies of each photo, one to keep and one to put in an album for the bride and groom to keep, wonderful fun.

A Hybrid Card

I am delighted to announce that I have been asked to join the creative team for Paper Garden Products, you can find these products at the Digichick Store.

Cathrine designs Digital Kits, Cutting Files and Digital Stamps

For this set, I have used one of her digital kits called "Nurture", look for it HERE.

I created a digital layout with a bride and groom, then using that as my base I then created a hybrid card to go with the layout.

The background has been printed with the butterfly and then the two layers of the butterfly printed separately and layered with 3D squares.

Baby News - CAS card.

This card has been made for a young couple who have announced they are expecting the patter of little feet later this year. Apparently they know what they are having, I for one don't like to know so haven't asked, hence you will find no blue or pink on the card.

I have layered some striped and spotted paper on a card, added some gold letters to make a sentiment and then added a wooden diecut to complete their card.

Lacy Sunshine is our sponsor this week, I chose this cute image called, Wix Moonlighter, to check out the store click on the badge.

http://lacysunshine.weebly.com/

I have coloured the image with copic pens, the moon is glued flat, Wix is raised with 3d squares.  After I coloured the image and cut it out I then cut off the two bottom lamps and three stars.  I used gold edging stickers in place of the chains, used 3d squares to replace the lanterns, two glitter stars to replace two of the stars and the heart charm in place of the third star.  I then added crystal gems across the bottom and down the side and some scattered across the purple background.

Cameo

One of the thngs I love to do is to create using Digital Kits, I first started using them many years ago. at first so I could do hybrid creations, but then I got hooked on digital scrapping.  Here is a page inspired by a challenge for a Cameo this week.  I am using a new kit from Retro Designs, called  "FromTime to Time" you can find it HERE together with other beautifully designed kits.

I created the page with "From Time to Time" and then added a silhouette Cameo Image from Floppy Latte, which I recoloured to match the page.

Then I used the design to create a Hybrid Card using a wooden cameo
