Mini Journal

This little 3.5 x 2.5 inch Mixed Media Art Journal  was inspired by a competition to honour "The Black Angus" at this year's Royal Melbourne Show.

The cover has been made with brown paper, glue, embossing folder and oil pastels to create a Faux Leather look.

Inside the covers is a short history of the cattle in question.  Some things I have used: water colour and acrylic paints, oil pastels, embossing paste, stamps , collage, different papers, some hand drawing, white gel pens and black markers.  The Black Angus is a large rubber stamps, so I stamped the image a few times, scanned it to my computer and then shrunk it to the sizes I needed, printed, cut and coloured with copic pens.

After delivering the journal last week for judging, I received an email last night advising I had placed 2nd.  I am over the moon.

Magical Sunsets

Love watching the sun rise and set, nature turns out in all her glory with her colour pallette.

These are photos of our first visit to Fiji, if only we were able, we would be there each year.  Total relaxation.

I have used pieces from Raspberry Roads free, "Island Time" kit.

As I am always the person behind the camera, it was a surprise when I saw my husband had caught me from behind walking towards a boat.  Not very flattering, but then it is me in holiday mood.

Playing with Patterns

Over the past few days I have been called on to help someone who was recently in hospital, as her husband was called out, really just had to be there ifn case she needed anything, which wasn't much as she was fairly good.  which left me lots of time to doodle.

Yesterday armed with journal, graphite pencils and a pen I created this page, I was so surprised how quickly the time past.

Inspiration came from Art Journal Journey's September challenge.

Get Creative Challenge, September, 2019

This month's challenge is Anything Goes and our sponsor is

I chose "Over the Moon" from All Dressed up to create a wedding card.

The couple love their winter sports and their invitations came with snowflake embellishments.  The bride is also famous for placing lots of glitter and tiny elements inside envelopes when she sends you mail.  So, for this card I went all out with lots of glitter, the background has been created by painting acrylic paints over black cardstock, then adding some glitter paint on top.

Image was printed twice, I fussy cut the moon from the image and heavily coated it with gold and silver glitters.  Used copic pens for the skin, hair and grooms suit.  Brides frock and Grooms hat have been paper pieced with a linen type paper. (for the hat I used copic pens to colour the paper).

Dotted some gold around for stars, added some silver edgings and pearls.  Two of the snowflakes are wooden the third is a laser cut element, all covered with multiple glitters.  Around the edges I have used Kindy Glitz Silver, two small glitter hearts and I have hand written the sentiment.  The bouquet and buttonhole of the image have been covered with flowers and leaves, also some liquid pearls.

Angie's Digital Stamps. 1st September

The theme at Angie's Digital Stamps for September is Anything Goes.
I chose "Fairy sitting down", you can find it HERE.

It is a black line image and I decided to have a play with digitally creating a card topper.  The background paper, wood, splotches, ribbon and rose buds all come from a digital kit, I layered a patterned paper for her wings.

Once created and printed, I used a deckle blade to cut out the topper.  Adding some netting and flowers in the top right hand corner to complete the card.
