Brown Sugar Challenge # 72 - Christmas

It's Christmas at Brown Sugar this week, we have two sponsors, Delicious Doodles and Stitchy Bear Designs.   Click on the badges to go these stores.

My first project is from Delicious Doodles and is called "Mother Mary"
http://www.deliciousdoodles.blogspot.co.uk/

I have printed the image on cream watercolour paper, coloured with Watercolour Pencils.  I cut the image out and then stuck it to more of the watercolour paper, used an edge punch on two sides, mounted on Kraft card.  A gold gilded wooden star has been added, with gold glitter highlights from the star and as a halo around the baby, scrolled the sentiment which is the title of a Christmas Carol, Mary's Boy Child Jesus Christ. Inside I have put the words to the Carol.

My second project is a tag made with an image from Stitchy Bear called "Christmas Magic
http://stitchybearstamps.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=11
The image "Christmas Magic", has been coloured with copic pens and glitter, I have also used some white liquid pearls on the candles to give them some drips down their sides.  Image has been cut out and mounted on green patterned cardstock with a gold sticker sentiment.

Wintertime

I have to begin by saying I am most definitely not a Winter Person, give me Sun, lots of Sun underneath a Clear Blue Sky, don't shut me in.  (Apologies to Cole Porter).

Here are a couple of pages I have made for swapping groups that I belong to, the first is a friendship page and the theme is Winter.  Made use of Rick St Dennis images that I recently won, check out Rick's Zibbet site HERE.

Front Page with a pocket, cottage picture is a scan from an old address book that I turned into a digital image, has been coloured with Copic pens and liquid pearl for the snow.  Added sticker lettering for Winter and a large snowflake button.
Reverse Page, humour is a great way to get through those cold days and nights, Rick St Dennis image "Let It Snow"
Top two photos are tags to go in the pocket, Rick St Dennis image, "An Old Man's Dreams", the house, is from the same address book as the cottage above, I digitally added rain, coloured image with copics and then added Glossy Accents for raindrops, on the back is a poem about rain. Bottom left is a closeup of the front page cottage and the little penguin is an ATC that I did sometime ago, he will tuck into the pocket also.
My friendship page, complete with the tags ready for mailing.
My next project is for a Graphic45 swap group.  The theme this time was to make a fat page for a fat page album and again the theme is Winter.  The page has an extra inch on the side so that it can be inserted into an album.

The cardstock, tag and the fairy are all from Graphic45, I have added a bow, pearls, bling, and liquid pearls.
The little flower buttons are also from graphic 45, added a little poem about winter and some snowflake ribbon

The Twist of Faith Card Challenge 10th December - Traditional Christmas

I am on the DT for  Robyn's Fetish Challenges and this week I have been asked to be a GDT at The Twist of Faith Card Challenges, an Australian based challenge. This week the challenge is "Traditional Christmas."

You will find the challenge at The Twist of Faith Card Challenges

The sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish, click on the badge to go to the store.

http://robynsfetish.com/shop/

I have used "Christmas Scene 1" from Robyn, I have used this delightful image before, this time I decided to go monochromatic and used the warm greys from Copic to colour the image.  The cardstock is Kraiser craft, an aqua colour, the designer paper is from Kaisercraft called "Turtle Dove Collection", which is covered in snowflakes and has the image of the church and another image I didn't use on this card.

The card should be made with thick cardstock, mine wasn't that thick but I liked the softer wavy effect I got with the Martha Stewart Edge punch I used.  Added a typed sentiment, also with the edging to complete the card.

The card opens by lifting the front cover (with the image) I have seen it called the Magic Card, a tutorial can be found HERE
