CHNC Christmas #479

This week our challenge is Anything Goes with the option "vintage or shabby chic".  Not my most favourite theme, but I hope I ticked all the boxes with this card.

An image from my stash, which fitted beautifully behind the frame. I have added lace, lots of digital tags and stamps, with some hessian and netting.  Holly stickers, buttons, even a micro button and 3 bows (ribbon, twine and raffia) complete the card.

The Crafter's Cafe #236 - 15th February Red/ Pink

New challenge at The Crafter's Cafe this fortnight the theme is use Red/Pink.

Two great sponsors

Prize: 3 images

 and
Prize: 3 images
I chose an image from QKR called, Rose. and created a mixed media page in my bullet diary, I am trying to get a page for each month.
The rose has been coloured with red and green copic pens and fussy cut.

For this one, I first layered the page with pages from an old book, the layered red tissue paper of the lot, then did another layer of red tissue, didn't realise how transparent it was at first.

Typed three verses of Robbie Burns love poem, adhered the verses and the rose onto the page, wrote some facts about February in white pen and added some gold liquid pearls and doodles some hearts to complete the page.
I chose img 421 from My Besties to make a card, then found out it was just a bit too big and overwhelming on a card, so instead I altered the cover of an art journal, where I try to draw faces.

Coloured with copic pens, pencils and some white paint.

CHNC Christmas #477

This week our challenge is Anything Goes with the option "use some green"  I am currently trying to declutter and go through the many drawers I have in my craftroom, whilst doing that I came across some wonderful Christmas prints, I have no idea where they came from, I am thinking someone sent them to me.  This is the first of 4 that I have used in making cards.

Mounted onto patterned green paper, I have added some curved edged die cuts.  The sepals on the flowers have a touch of glitter.

February is the month of love.

Come February and most people are look at love, hearts and roses.  My Husband and I got married in February,. No, not on St Valentine's Day, in fact I don't think we even knew about it way back then.  February 5th was chosen because I wanted a hot day, Dad said pick the first Saturday after the kids go back to school, it is always hot.  Now, looking back over 48 years, I think this is the only year where that Saturday has been cold.

I have made a mixed media double spread in this year junk journal to celebrate the 48 years.  The images are from Twistoon (formerly Bloobel), Lisa is running a monthly progressive challenge on her FB page.  Check it out and have some fun with her drawings.  There is a freebie each month and a discount for other images.

I chose Oh No Nannette for my freebie this month and thought I needed a groom, so I bought Heart Spring to go with Nannette,

So much going on, don't know If I will remember everything, gesso, acrylic paints, water soluble pencils and pastels, inks, permanent markers, paint pens and a stamp.  Lots of my scribble both written and doodled.

Both the images have been coloured with copic pens and pencils.  Clothes are paper pieced, (seen to be doing a lot of this at the moment). For Spring Heart, the heart has also been paper pieced and fussy cut, I have drawn in the spring (it is on the image) and added the heart with a wobble spring.

The theme or this month's challenge at Unicorn Blog Challenges is Anything Goes.  My card this month features an image from QKR, called Postman.

The image has been coloured with copic pens and fussy, the bottom two envelopes (above the little wooden snail) I cut separately from the image and then used 3d dimensions to raise them from the card.  The sentiment was typed directly onto the cardstock.

Get Creative Hearts Challenge 3rd Feb.

This month's challenge is to use "Hearts"

Our sponsor is

I have used an image from Charlie's Stamps called "Cute Fluffy Kitten"  The background is from We are 3 Digital paper.

Fluffy cat has been coloured with copic pens, fussy cut and had a handmade bow wrapped around her neck.  Just right for a pet lover.  Background paper form Stampin Up.

Just to show there are never mistakes in paper crafting that cannot be fixed.  Having recently spring cleaned my craftroom, I came across a lot of folded white cards,  usually off cuts from when I have been making other cards, this particular white card was a good thick cardstock and I was happy to have found it in a drawer.  I diecut the image, adhered the doilies and background cardstock, added the little kitten with 3d dimensions and was very happy with the result, UNTIL, I happened to turn the card over! In all the time, I had never turned the card over, there on the back of the card was all the Stampin up info of some product I had bought.

Now, if I had turned it over earlier, I could have used the printed side for the front of the card, what to do!!!  Then, I thought why not just add some more paper to the back, which I did and then added another big heart.  Card completed, ready to be posted and a great result of recycling.

Today's challenge the first of our new Anything Goes, Challenges, now  happening on the 1st of each month.
We have two great sponsors:

Prize - 3 digis of winners choice
Prize -  3 digis of winners choice

I made a couple of Art journal pages for this fortnights challenge, Anything Goes.

First up is a page created with Twistoon's Whistling and Walking.  As my husband cannot whistle, I thought this poem I found on the internet could be dedicated to him.  This page is in my literature art journal.  The image has been coloured with copic pens, his clothes are all paper pieced.  Background is markers, acrylic and watercolour paints.

I have also made a mixed media page in my Bullet Diary.  October is a full on month in this family. Started with My husband, then our son, and then his son ( our grandson all being born in October.  Then both our son and our daughter married October born partners.  Throw in some other family and friends, and it becomes a Monster Month.

The image is from Sheepski, called Monster Books, which has been coloured with copic pens and fussy cut.

The background is a mixture of acrylic and watercolour, pens, paints and pastels.  I think I got the purple mesh when I bought a bag of passionfruit.  Layered over the page to create a bag to keep the monsters in, but look closely and you will see one eye poking through and the bat already has one wing poking out of the mesh.  Ribbon, bow and a little poem complete the page.  A bit of fun for a big month.

Pearly Sparkles Use some Red 1/2/20

This months challenge is to use some red, I have gone overboard, yes, definitely overboard.  I decided to do a junk journal using RED, then realised a lot of my red stash related to Christmas, so the hunt was on to find bits and pieces in my stash, this mini 2.5 x 3.5 inch Red Junk Journal is the result.  The cover has been made using a faux Leather technique, and wasn't that fun in red.  Left with Pink fingers for a few days.
