Southern Girls - Flower Power - 26 July, 2018

Our sponsors for Flower Power are

and

I received "Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Springtime - New Bonnet" from Polkadoodles and decided to make a small canvas for a girls bedroom.

Winnie has been coloured with copic pens and fussycut.  Flowers have been added to her hat.

Canvas has been coated with Gesso and tissue paper applied whilst gesso still wet. The quote has been typed and the edges distressed and inked.  Butterflies and leaves from my stash.   Some of the flowers and bling are from Flourish with a Bling (sadly now a closed shop), dimensional paste forthe butterfly path.

Ballerina

This card, a bit different from my usual. It features a rubber stamped image, that I am pretty sure someone else stamped for me.  It was during a copic pens craft class.  I just cannot get around the fact I can rubber stamp perfectly with a wooden backed stamp, but the others types I have so much trouble with  and yes I have one of those stamp helpers.

Coloured with copic pens and when I fussy cut her I left enough card at the bottom to hand draw the floor boards.  She has been sitting around my craftroom for quite sometime as I could find a background I liked for her. Then the other day I found this floral paper with the birdcage and thought this is it.  I added a glittery sentiment to complete the card.

SHEEPSKI DESIGNS

LIA STAMPZ
Prize is the same images the team used
MY BESTIES
Prize is 3 images
For my first project I made a Christmas Card with an image I received from Sheepski , called Gnome for Christmas.

Had a lot of fun layering this card up (not something I do too often)  I corner cut some Kaisercraft paper and used green cardstock from Stampin up for the card base (which I also corner cut at two edges, giving the card an additional layer look with the paper also placed inside the card.

The image has been coloured with copic pens and die cut.  The little gnome has been printed a second time, coloured, fussy cut and layered into place, liquid pearls and Kindy glitz for his beard, hat and boots.  Butterflies from my stash as are the leaves.  The big red flower and additional mushrooms are all from Flourish with a Bling (which sadly have recently closed)

This time I made a mixed media canvas.  Starting with white tissue paper, which I sprayed with a gold ink mist. Brushed Gesso onto the canvas and whilst still wet, scrunched up the tissue onto the canvas.

The image is Autumn Fairy from Cute as a Button, coloured with copic pens and fussy cut, she has been layered onto a doily, glitter added to her wings.  The angel is three layers, bottom layer is the complete image, then a second complete image, this time the wings have been lifted with 3d dimensions to give her wings more dimension, the top layer is the fairy's body and clothing only.

Lots and lots of layers followed.  Some are the little wooden log with the dragon fly attached, white picket wooden fence, the little wooden bird (which I have adhered two together to lift the bird of the canvas)  Lots of diecuts and flowers, butterflies and don't forget the mushrooms, these are my favourite embellishments, sadly Flourish with a Bling has now closed and I will run out of these delightful mushrooms one day.).

Tip Toe Through The Tulips

This month's image from the Outlawz Monthly Progressive Challenge in from Sheepski and is called "Tulip Border"

I only have a couple of pages left in my Song Journal and could not missed the opportunity to add the tulips to my journal.

I also have an image from Sheepski called "Fuzzy Friends" and decided to combine the two images for this page.

All colouring has been done with copic pens, The bears have been fussy cut and layered onto some tulips which were printed several times onto the page and then a  couple of time separately, so I could layer them over the little bears.  For the bear looking through the window I separated thirFuzzy Friends image and printed him directly onto the page, which was then cut to resemble the window.

Finally,  I have used washi tape on the edges.

Brown Sugar #280 - 6th July, 2018

This month's challenge is to use 2 or more patterned papers and our sponsor is
A Day for Daisies.

Love working with A Day for Daisies images and this time I paper pieced "Acorn Cutie" turning her into a Gumnut Baby.  The verse is from The Stringy Bark Tree by Henry Lawson.

I managed to get 7 different papers into my little framed picture. 5 from Stampin Up, one from Kaisercraft and I hand cut the gum leaves from an old book.  The gumnuts are real, our lawns are covered in them and I quilled the little gum flowers.

There’s the whitebox and pine on the ridges afar,
where the iron-bark, blue gum,and peppermint are;
There is many another, but dearest to me,
And the king of them all was the stringy-bark tree

I chose Firefly Mason Jar from Scribbles Designs for my simple card.  I printed the jar and single firefly straight onto thick cardstock from Stampin Up, adding the type verse to create the card base.
The jar was printed again on the same type of cardstock.  The single firefly was coloured with copic pens (lightly so that it did not show through on the reverse side of the card.
The extra jar was coloured with copics also and diecut.  Layered onto the printed image on the card base with glue this kept the image close to the base card which let the string in the bottom image match up to the second jar.
