Brown Sugar Challenge #118 - Anything Goes - 31 October, 2014

Our Spo0nsor this week is
Dr Digi

I love the humour in Dr Digi images, for this challenge I chose 'Deirdery's Day Off".  Perfect for my new Art/Travel journal.  I am heading off to the tropics again next year and have started preparing my journal, which will comprise of pages just for writing, picture pages, lots of pages for pasting bits and pieces and always some fun art journal pages prepared before the journal is put together.

I have used a designer paper which goes from yellow to deep orange, acrylic paints for some water effect, lots of stamps (the little frames as for me to write in quick little notes), some beach houses, from Flourish with a Bling, check out their great store HERE.

Deirdery has been coloured with Copic Pens and Fussy cut.

I make the books myself and this wont end up being a double page, it is just part of a signature.

Include a Hat at Lacy Sunshine

Always very cute images can be found at Lacy Sunshine, but my favourites are the little boys she illustrates, cherub faces, button noses, very very cute.  So for this fortnights challenge at lacy Sunshine I chose to use 'Jamie - 1920s Zoot Suit' I've used him more than once and love this little fellow.

This time he is all dressed up with his favourite hat ready to hit the track, race track that is, he is off to see The Melbourne Cup, which is run on the 1st Tuesday in November at the Flemington racecourse.  Where it is said a nation stops, to listen to a racehorse, and it all happens next Tuesday!

I've coloured Jamie with copic pens, copied and coloured his hat twice and attached it with 3d squares, added some punched twigs.   He is ready to enter Fashion on the Fields!

Robyn's Fetish Challenge # 232 Autumn Colours - 5 October, 2014

This weeks sponsor is our very own "Robyn's Fetish Store"

Prize this week - 3 Images of the winners choice from the Robyn's Fetish Store

I chose one of the primitive designs called Primitive Doll, I have a very soft spot for these image, love the simplicity and quaintest of them.  A tip if you are just starting out in fussy cutting, these primitive images are great for their simple long lines.

This time I have only used Autumn colours to colour the image with Copic and Kaisercraft pens.

I have used some apricot/pumpkin coloured cardstock to make the card, folding it so that the back of the card is wider than the front, then scalloped the edges.  I also scalloped a separate strip which has been inked down one side and layered it on the the inside of the card, just in from the edge.

I put a flower and ribbon in her basket, and other flowers on the front and inside of the card, so that when the card is closed there is a cluster in the bottom right hand corner, but when you open the card you also have a flower.  Green bling down the side finished my Autumnal card.
