DSC #125 - Bugaboo - Anything Goes - 30 January, 2015

Our Sponsor for this week is

BugabooStamps

I chose "Flower Swing" for my card, and I also added another Bugaboo image I had, "Friends were flowers".

I coloured both images with copic pens, the swing was printed twice and some of the flowers have been added with 3d squares.  Both images have also been mounted with the 3d squares to lift them off the page, then I typed a sentiment.

The images have been mounted onto a bright pink glossy card.  Then came the digital part of my project.  Scroll down..........

For the inside of the card, I use a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson, called the Swing.

I took the swing image from Bugaboo and digitally paper pieced with a kit from Paper Garden Projects, called "Garden, you can find the kit here.

After adding different papers to the image, I put a border around the image and applied a shadow.  Hopefully now looking like a sticker around the poem.  The little flower border at the bottom is from the same "Garden"

Our sponsor this week is
 Kenny K

I chose "Bench Couple" for my Valentine card, I printed a card with a background fence, flowers and the image and left them all uncoloured. That way I could keep the back lines around the image e.g. where the boys heels are clicked together.

I then printed the image twice and the hearts a third time.  The image has been coloured with copic pens, I fussy cut the whole image, then fussy cut just the boy and the then the hearts and cap.

All have been layered with 3d squares.

Added a little bit of William Shakespeare to the inside of the card.

Luna Girl

The image I have used is called "Dance like nobody's Watching", which I also used as the title of my layout.

I have used some sheet music background paper, which I have lightly erased cetrtain parts, the gold frames and flourishes come from Retro Designs "A New Dawn", although this kit is not available at the moment, check out the other kits, they are all beautiful retro designs.

I have coloured the flourishes to match the Luna Girl image.  The photo is of my mother in law dancing with her father, we think it was her 21st.

As I was using a nature photo, I kept mainly to the greens and red pieces and the little snowman.  I also added little birds (hoping spring is around the corner).  I have to admit where I live we do not get to see this much snow, in fact we don't get snow at all.

DSC # 121 - What's Your Favourite Shape - 2 January, 2015

Our Sponsor this week is

I chose "Purple Orchid"  (which is a kit with coloured papers and a digital image)for my digital layout and my favourite shape would be a circle.

I also had a bit of help from some software that I have had for quite some time, Poppy Hill's Dazzling Reflections, which makes beautfiful kaleidoscopes.  I have used 2 of the kits papers to create the flowers, the back of the circle has been made by mirroring one of the papers.

I suppose I love the circle because of the many symbols it represents, we have the cycle of life, circle of friends, the clock hands that go round and round.  The wedding band and the seasons coming and going in an endless circle.

A circle is the reflection of eternity. It has no beginning and it has no end
- and if you put several circles over each other, then you get a spiral.
