Weird and Whimsical at Lacy Sunshine

Belinda Unicorn Girl features on my door hanger.  She was the freebie so generously offered this fortnight.

I have coloured Belinda with copic pens, her hair is pink and mauve (the mauve is a bit hard to see the the photos.  Lots of glitter, right down to the sparkle in her eye.  Using black cardstock for the hanger I hand embossed with my scorboard, placing glitter dots randomly over the pattern.  A die cut butterfly and typed words complete the door hanger.

Robyn's Fetish Challenge #278 - Use a Digi - 23 August, 2015

Our Sponsor this week is
FRED, SHE SAID DESIGNS
PRIZE: a $10 voucher to the FRED, SHE SAID DESIGNS STORE

I chose "Doodle Flower Trio with Butterfly/Flowers" for my use a digi card this week.

This kit comes with lots and lots of images, some as a scene and others as single images and also in different sizes.

Created with colouring and paper piecing, I had lots of fun creating this card, first I created the background using the scene provided and then added the butterfly extra stems, flowers and leaves, printed this scene onto white card, and coloured with copic pens.  I then printed the butterfly and flowers on some designer paper more than once.

Layering these designer paper images to create the 3d scene you now see below.

With the butterfly I cut different parts of the wings for more 3d effect.

Side on view gives some idea of the different layers and colours used.

Pixel Time

Time to play with some pixels today.  These photos weretaken whilst on holidays earlier this year.  I have no idea who the couple in the photo are, but it was nice the lady was wearing red.  I think it is OK to include them as they are not recognizable.

This tree and there were several, have the brightest of bright cascading bunches of  red flowers.

And this one a brilliant green (see the seed pods?

F is for Fashion - B is for Bookmark

This fortnight the challenge at Ike's World was fashion, and there was a freebie of Sherlock Holmes on the blog posting.  I can't be the only person who thought great image for a bookmark.  So here it is!

I coloured Sherlock with copic pens and fussy cut (been doing a lot of that lately), then adhered him to some designer paper, I have added some braid to the top of the bookmark, that should stop it sliding out of the book.

And a sentiment completes the bookmark.

It's Snowing

"Candy Cane for Snowman" is the free image of the month at From The Heart or August.  I decided to go with an aqua and purple colour scheme for my card, I have shaded the snowman with grey and added some blush to his and the birds cheeks, just because I think you get rosey cheeks being out in the cold.  I use a die to create the pattern at the top and bottom of the image, mounted onto mauve and aqua cardstock.  Silver snowflakes, white liquid pearl and clear kiddy glitter for snow.

Fun at the Beach

The Imagine That image for this month is "Beach Blanket Girl", I have used the precoloured versions in the set.

I digitally created the background using the sun and water background from the set, then I added the 4 surfboards and beachball to the sand.  Lastly adding the umbrella and the girl on the blanket to the background as well.  I also printed out the umbrella top and the beach ball again.  Fussy cut the umbrella and used a round punch on the ball, adding both with 3d squares.  The sentiment in the sky is also included in the set.

Sproutnator LS Super Hero

Who or what is Sproutbnator LS Super Hero, why she is the adorable image from Lacy Sunshine for this week's challenge.

I have used mainly yellows copics to colour her.  Making her my Winter is coming to an end hero.  Spring is coming, the wattles will bloom and the daffodils will pop up through the earth and the butterflies will be in abundance.  And then Summer will arrive with all it's glorious sunshine and warm weather.
Count down is on for the 1st day of Spring (18 days to go).

Add a Feather

This little card features an image from A Day For Daises, "Bird Blooming", it was the freebie this fortnight on their blog. The challenge was to add a feather, now if I was more organised I would have been able to find my feather die (found it too late- had not even unpacked it, so goes life when I am busy. So I had to rethink my card. The image has been coloured with Copic Pens and fusssy cut and attached with Stampin Up hexagons. I digitally created a background sentiment and feather, printed on DP.

The Crafter's Cafe #129 - The Great Outdoors - 12 August, 2015

Our Sponsor this week is

The team got to use 2 images from Karleigh Sue for this challenge.  I used both, with the polka dot bow and the mushrooms, they just seemed a perfect pair.

Coloured with copic pens and fussy cut, I have used two DPs the top one is glossy, hence the shine in the photos.

With Adriana's Owl, I printed and coloured a second bow which I layered with 3d squares, I keep saying squares, but they are hexagons from Stampin Up.  I find them easier than squares, no idea why!

With "Toadstool Elf" I printed and coloured the little mushrooms and also attached them with the hexagons.  I added a Hi sentiment, which is on a tag that has been folded in half and sits up from the card.  Also added a mushroom from Flourish with a bling.

Sorry about the glare in the photos, but the vines are green.

Country View for August and it is Summertime.

So excited today, to bring you a card I have made for a Guest Designer spot I won at Country View.
The theme for August is "Summer Time".  My favourite time of the year, I love the long hot days, the balmy nights.  Summer for me is bright coloured gardens with blooms in all shades.

My card features a fairy from FaeryInk.  Coloured with copic pens and fussy cut.  The papers are from Close to My Heart, from their Summer Tastes and Blossom range.  Gorgeous rich colours, I have used a doiley die on the orange paper to create a background for the fairy, then layered it onto the floral paper and more orange.

The sentiment is a silver sticker which I also coloured with copic pens.
