Best Friend card

A best friend card, featuring an image from Sheepski, called Daffodils, for me daffodils are one of the first signs of spring, a time when the earth is renewed and my garden comes alive with green leaves and colourful flowers.

In fact, during this time of doom and gloom, my husband and I ripped up a garden patch which just hasn't been working and have now planted it with lots and lots of bulbs and seedlings.

Come spring we should have flowers to enjoy outside and inside. As Audrey Hepburn said "To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow"

The image has been coloured with copic pens and fussy cut, the design is from Crafting Vicky's March challenge.  I flipped the sketch.  The quote is from a rubber stamp.

The TP dilemma

Here is a cute image from My Besties, you can find it in her store as a freeebie.  My journalling juices were running and another poem was forthcoming.

Firstly the image is called "Knobby Knees I got you TP" coloured with copics and fussy cut without the curls.  Printed again on the coffee dyed paper, in a ginger colour (not showing up well in the picture, then layered the fully coloured image onto the coffee paper.  Flowers and butterfly have been made with a couple of squares of toilet paper.

Twas the month of March
Coming  from everywhere, over bridge and under arch
A new species of mankind  appeared
They were weird and sometimes to be feared
Even been known to come from over the borders
The Toilet Paper hoarders

More Journalling and a Poem

Married to a Chocoholic, I would love to make this tart for him.  I found the recipe in the newspaper some time ago and forgot all about it, then found it the other day and well, my poem says it all!

The image from Beccy's place called, March Pie has been printed 4 times and coloured with copic pens.  I then used the full image, next layer is of everything except the inside of the jar and the spoons, next layer is the jug and pie and lastly just the pie and cloth.  All layered and stuck with a gluestick., which has made it into a 3d sticker.

Travel journal page

I have been doing a number of these journal pages lately, more to come.  I chose this image from Twistoon, in her monthly progressive challenge on FB to go into my continuing travel journal to Rutherglen, wonderful small country township in country Victoria, that we visited last year and went back again early March.

By the time we got home, the world and travel had changed, so she has become a symbol of our last trip, where we went and what we did traveling freely throughout the country side, these pages are in this year's bullet diary, so I have a written and drawn journey of 2020.

Bon Voyage has been coloured with copic pens and fussy cut, attached to a map page, with a little pull tab to open the map and show where and when we visited certain places.

The scribble (my hand writing) is about some of the things we encountered.

The Crafter's Cafe #238 - 15th March Animals

The theme at the Crafters Cafe this fortnight is Animals.
 The sponsors are:
All Dressed Up
 and
Eureka Stamps
I've used an image from Eureka Stamps called "Lamb in Egg" and added a page to my bullet journal.  I'm working on different ways to add pages to my journals.  I really love this year's bullet journal and would like to get another for next year and use it as both my bullet journal and my junk 2021 journal. It would eliminate having two running together.

I have attached some drawing paper with washi tape to create a fold out page, this will allow me to use the dates in the journal and yet still have a bit of mixed media.   Then I have the option of using the other side of the drawing paper, or gluing it to the journal page once I have finished with those dates.  It is a good manageable size, so fingers crossed I work it out for next year.

The image has been coloured with copic pens and kindy glitz, fussy cut and adhered to silver paper (which I have a lot of) and washi tape.

Angies Digitals Challenge , 1 March 2020

This month the theme at Angies Digitals is Anything Goes.

I chose an image called "Bear Brushing Hair" check out the store HERE. to make a collage piece.  The page has been created in the year's bullet diary.  Hopefully by the end of the year I will have a journal of bits and pieces I have created throughout the year.

I printed the image twice one in mirror.  Coloured with copic pens , coloured pencils and fussy cut.  Layered patterned paper onto the page, flipped left over paper and die cut  the oval to go behind the small image.  Then diecut brown patterned paper for the frame of the mirror.

The chain for the mirror is an edging sticker.  Folder some more of the brown patterns paper and created a shelf to hold her beauty products (which are all digital images from Tumble Fish Studios)

A bought some great alphabet stamps recently and I was going to stamp the words, but for some unknown reason I kept stamping "Pretty" as Preety.  So I gave up and typed and printed the words.  Anyway! I hope you enjoy my little collage scene.

The Crafter's Cafe #237 - 1st March Anything Goes

Another Anything Goes at The Crafter's Cafe.

Two great sponsors
Dr Digis House of Stamps

and

Scribbles Designes
I chose "Ground Hog 2" from Scribbles Designs,  to create a mixed media page in my bullet diary.
It's been pretty hot where I live and I do tend to do more journal pages than cards as all glues and double sided tape can become difficult to use, either run profusely or get really tacky.  So hot in fact, that I had something I had use a hot glue gun on last year, melt and fall apart.

We don't have Groundhogs in Australia, so I did a bit of research and came up with some interesting facts. We do not have any Marmots in Australia

The background an the Ground Hog have been painted with Paper Artsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics.  My favourite paint.  The rest of the image, dirt, stone flowers, leave and umbrella are all paper pieced, to create some collage on the page.  Stencils, some raindrop and circle epoxy stickers have also been added.

This is the double page view, the quote is one of many in the Bullet Diary
