Southern Girls - Use Metal - 23 Aug, 2018

Sponsor for this challenge is

I've used an image in my stash from Lacy Sunshine called Chefkin Troll.  He has been coloured with copic pens and fussy cut.

I have to Cooking Journals, one for savory and one for sweet dishes, always wanted to alter their black covers but never seem to get around to it or the mojo just hasn't been there.  But after finding these tiny metal charms, together with Chefkin, thought they would make a great cover.

Did a test run with the wonder tape to see if I could get any paper to adhere to the poly something or other covers and found the Wonder Tape from Rangers worked.

The charms have been attached to the paper with split pins before the paper was adhered to cover.  Chefkin glued to the cover (keeping things as flat as possible on the cover. Found a scrap of edging that has been added to the sides, typed a quote and now by sweet cooking Journal has a different cover.

Live Laugh Love

Had a lovely quiet 3 hours today, washing done, hubby out, now what to do? Art Journal page. Something I rarely do, is use rubber stamps, I usually make a botch of them unless it is peaceful and I am in my space quietly getting my hand dirty.

The butterfly stamp and the sentiment (oops not clear) are stamps from my stash (years old and I have no idea where I got them.  The rest of the pages has stampin up stamps and ink.

A bit of fun to relax with no interruptions.

Tiny Terrarium

This tiny terrarium in only 4 inches in diameter.  It came about by a friend sending me a kit for the house which is tiny, she had bought 3 to do as gifts, but gave up as the house is so tiny.  Putting the house together was easy, once we had the instructions translated from chinese to english. But the elements in the house and the lighting were was too small to work for me to put together, so in the end I altered what was supposed to be a Christmas Ball decoration into a terrarium.

I made the footpath with glue and yellow pebbles, the fence with glue and stones.  And added a Kangaroo with her joey and a couple of turtles as well.  I am still looking for a bird to sit on the house but at this time can't find anything small enough.

CHNC Christmas #397

This week embossing (wet or dry) is the theme at The Christmas Challenge.   I've used another Trio Bloc from Bugaboo, this time Xmas Trio Bloc and I have used the Santa.

Coloured with copic pens and fussy cut, I have die cut a strip of red paper.  For the embossing I sprayed the card with water and then put through an embossing folder.  (Having the card damp improves the depth of the embossing) A stamped sentiment of a stitched die completes the card

Brown Sugar #281 Fairies or Fantasies

This months sponsor at Brown Sugar is

I used "Sakura" from the sponsor, which I had in my stash.  Pretty image I have used on several occasions.

I'm trying a new alcoholic pen today, brand name is "Little Tipsy", they were on sale and I decided to buy some.  This is my 4th brand of alcohol markers.  I was very happy with the results.

My other brands:
Touch by ShinHanart, Favourite, but not readily available for me.

New Touch (chinese brand), were very cheap, great for big spaces, go on smoothly and save on using the expensive brands.

Copic, I use them most often, only because they are readily available, but are expensive, I have a lot of the refills, but some of my nibs are now in need of replacing.  Which is annoying, because I do not use the broad end, so nibs are expensive when you only use one end.

Back to this image "Sakura" she has been coloured with A Little Tipsy and die cut.  The papers are from Stampin Up, adding flowers, leaves and candy together with a sentiment to complete the card.

MARI DIGIS

Prize: The 3 images the team uses
POLKADOODLES
Prize: 3 digis to the value of £6.75
I received an image from Polkadoodles called " Primrose Darling Buds".  The flowers in the image reminded me of Frangipani, so I went with a Bon Voyage card.
As I am currently in the middle of Winter and desperate for bright sunshine and colours (usual thing this time of the year) I have gone mad with the colours.  The image has been coloured with Littly Tipsy pens and fussy cut, then layered with 3d dimensions onto a printed base with tree and sentiments.  Purply pink and yellow cardstock, bright yellow sun, beach-hut, flowers, twigs and wooden elements.  Typed punched tag to complete.
