Get Creative - 3rd January 2022

Starting off 2022 with an Anything Goes, optional New year.  I have used an image call Happy new Year Cow from Imagine That (sadly Kris has closed her shop) .

I made a fat page, well that is what we called many years ago.  I think the 4" x 4" square name referred back to a fat quarter in quilting.  Anyway, I can't find any references anymore, so lets say I made a square for my new bullet diary, which unlike other years does not have a spiral spine, so things will have to be kept less bulky than usual.

Coloured digitally and then shaded with copic pens.  Added glitter and stamped date completed the square.

Wouldn't be surprised if you can't read my scrawl, the wording is:

HEALTH for those near and far
NEVER to have to go into lockdown again
a Year full of fun
of course winning the lotter would be great

Get Creative Hearts Challenge 3rd Feb.

This month's challenge is to use "Hearts"

Our sponsor is

I have used an image from Charlie's Stamps called "Cute Fluffy Kitten"  The background is from We are 3 Digital paper.

Fluffy cat has been coloured with copic pens, fussy cut and had a handmade bow wrapped around her neck.  Just right for a pet lover.  Background paper form Stampin Up.

Just to show there are never mistakes in paper crafting that cannot be fixed.  Having recently spring cleaned my craftroom, I came across a lot of folded white cards,  usually off cuts from when I have been making other cards, this particular white card was a good thick cardstock and I was happy to have found it in a drawer.  I diecut the image, adhered the doilies and background cardstock, added the little kitten with 3d dimensions and was very happy with the result, UNTIL, I happened to turn the card over! In all the time, I had never turned the card over, there on the back of the card was all the Stampin up info of some product I had bought.

Now, if I had turned it over earlier, I could have used the printed side for the front of the card, what to do!!!  Then, I thought why not just add some more paper to the back, which I did and then added another big heart.  Card completed, ready to be posted and a great result of recycling.

Get Creative, November 2019

This month's challenge is all about holidays.
Three great sponsors

COLOR OF LOVE

SHEEPSKI DESIGNS

DRAWN BY KRISTA

I chose an image from Drawn By Krista, "Donkey and Star" to create a Christmas card.

Coloured with copic pens, the image has been cut and the edges distressed.  The star was printed a second time, fussy cut and layered onto the base star.

Layered onto to dark brown cardstock, which has had Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish rubbed around the edges.  The pearls were white and I have coated them with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic paint. Stamped sentiment completes the front of the card, which has been adhered to a brown cardstock card base.

Inside is a stamped Christmas Greeting and a poem I found on the net about the little donkey at Christmas.

Get Creative Challenge, September, 2019

This month's challenge is Anything Goes and our sponsor is

I chose "Over the Moon" from All Dressed up to create a wedding card.

The couple love their winter sports and their invitations came with snowflake embellishments.  The bride is also famous for placing lots of glitter and tiny elements inside envelopes when she sends you mail.  So, for this card I went all out with lots of glitter, the background has been created by painting acrylic paints over black cardstock, then adding some glitter paint on top.

Image was printed twice, I fussy cut the moon from the image and heavily coated it with gold and silver glitters.  Used copic pens for the skin, hair and grooms suit.  Brides frock and Grooms hat have been paper pieced with a linen type paper. (for the hat I used copic pens to colour the paper).

Dotted some gold around for stars, added some silver edgings and pearls.  Two of the snowflakes are wooden the third is a laser cut element, all covered with multiple glitters.  Around the edges I have used Kindy Glitz Silver, two small glitter hearts and I have hand written the sentiment.  The bouquet and buttonhole of the image have been covered with flowers and leaves, also some liquid pearls.

Then coloured with Opaque Fresco Acrylic, Metallic Paints. Glitter, Liquid Pearls, Metallic pencils, white gel pen and black marker.

Get Creative Challenge March, 2019

This month at Get Creative Challenge the theme is Anything Goes BUT a card.

3 Great Sponsors
 JUST ME DIGITAL STAMPS

PATTIE’S CREATIONS
STAR STAMPZ

I chose an image from Pattie's Creations called "Morning Glory" and played around with some mixed media.  I saw this on the internet recently and thought I wouldgive it a go, an altered spectacles case.

I've have used Acrylic Chalk Paints, Embossing paste and stencil, Gesso, Glue, Kindy Glitz, Liquid Pearls, Metallic Gilding Polish, Mod Podge.  Adding Bling, a Butterfly, Shells, twirled wire, Gumnuts and a coin.

The gumnuts and coin have been coloured with the gold polish, the same polish has also been added to the wings of the butterfly.  Fancy gem braid added around the top of the case completed the project.

The image "Morning Glory" was printed once on typing paper and once on cardstock. The typing paper image was torn around the edges and coloured with acrylic chalk paints to match the paint on the case.  A green alcoholic pen was used on the stems, which removed the paint and left a green stem. (this was a happy light bulb moment) and layered onto the case with mod podge.

The cardstock print was coloured with copic pens and the flowers and leaves were fussy cut and added to the other image with 3d dimensions and glue.  Glitter then added.
