Open Minded Crafting Challenge # 40 - Photo Inspiration - July 4th.

Four great sponsors this fortnight

Bugaboo Stamps

Faery Ink

Kenny K

Oakpond Creations

Our challenge this fortnight is a Photo Inspiration. Great Bright colours, the photo is of a Kindergarten wall in Fiji.  Such a happy outlook for the children.

I chose an image from Bugaboo called "Puppy Pile" for my card.  (I was probably thinking of the dog image just to the left of this wall that I didn't capture in the photo). Colouring the image with copic pens and adding glitter, I have made a step card.

Adding die cuts to the front and side of the card.  I took my inspiration from the colours and elements on the wall.

Fairy Tangles

Lemon Shortbread
The Art of Ronne P
The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette

I chose Arden from "The Fantasy of Nikki Burnette" for my vintage card.  I really get quite lost between Shabby/Chic and Vintage.

The image has been coloured with Copic , I only used muted colours.  Then fussy cut to be mounted onto a green background (which happens to be some packaging from a Santoro product - there packaing has such beautiful colours).  Mounted onto dark green cardstock, adding lace and pearls.  The bows and flowers are from Santoro, little pearls complete the card.

Inside I have used the same background cardstock and paper.

Open Minded Challenges #38 - Doodle - Midway June 13, 2015

We have four great sponsors this fortnight

Crafty Sentiments

Gerda Steiner Designs

Lizzy Love Oddball Art Co.

Scribbles Designs

I chose 'Hedgie with Flowers" from Scribbles Designs for my doodle card.  I coloured his face, paws and flowers with Copic Pens, then I got to work with a darkbrown pen.  I doodled his back including adding the word "Hello".  On some dark brown cardstock I doodled with a white pen, not the easiest of things, but I perservered and got the contrast I was hoping to achieve.

My Whimsical Little World

For my wedding card I chose Fairy Tangles image called "Forget me Nots Fairy"I have printed her twice and coloured her with copic pens.  I fussy cut one image and layered it over the other, this then allowed me to double her wing and give it some curves.

I have added blue gems down the side of the card and also for a butterfly trail.  Yellow liquid pearls and pen have been put into the centres of the flowers, which are die cuts, so are the stems and leaves.  Typed a sentiment.

Verse
For the inside of the card, I wrote a little poem, added some lace to the top and little forget me nots dotted around the page.
The forget Me Not symbolizes Faithful & True Love

In years to come do not forget the vows you said to one another

As you fall asleep each night do not forget to whisper I love You”

When the argument is over do not forget to shout I love you”

Grow these Forget Me Nots in your garden as a reminder of your Love for each other.

Polka Dooodles

I've used pieces from the "Cherry Blossom Lane "CD to create a digital layout for my Winter Vacation Getaway, because if it is winter then I'm getting away from it and heading for the sun.  I've used two of the back grounds from the CD and blended them into one scene, adding trees, flowers, birds, with bunnies cycling and sailing.   The words at the bottom of the layout are from Cliff Richard's Song "Summer Holiday"

Paper Addictions
Prize: 5 Images

I chose an image from Digistamps 4 Joy, "Ellies Flowers" for my Lucky card this fortnight.  Thought she was just right for a bit of doodling.  If you haven't tried this type of doodling give it ago, can be done anywhere, just need a fine pen/marker, you could make up a little kit and carry it in your purse to while away those time you are sitting waiting for someone/appointments etc.  It is very addictive.

These pages were done to see how Ellie looked with different patterns, the flowers have been coloured with distress ink pens in green (think clover).

For my card, I printed the image straight onto some white cardstock, did another pattern, coloured the flowers, added a four leaf clover (hint: place four hearts together to make 4 leaf clover)  Added a sentiment and some ribbon on the inside of the card, (the back of the card extends out from the top)

For this challenge I chose, "Sun Goddess Flower Face" from Fairy Ink.  I have created a page for my Art/Holiday/Junk Journal, there will probably be bits and pieces stuck over the butterflies as the trip continues, but the sun will shine away on this page.
For the love of Sun, Summer and Hot Weather

I don't know where to begin to explain what I have done.

So let's try a Recipe
Watercolour Paints, Micro pens/ Staedler Pens, Ink pads, Glitter, Stamps, Tangles, Embossing powder, Luminescence paint; water based textas in greens, purples, oranges and yellows.  And A WHOLE LOT OF FUN.  I just sort of went crazy.  I printed the moon twice once on the page and the second one I coloured and cut out with some rays I add drawn and stuck this Sun over the original one for some extra dimension.
