I've made two cards both feature images from Ike's World called "Bunnies" and "Mama Puss".  My first thought when seeing these images was "great for a twin card"  I don't know anyone having twins, but at least now I have a couple of Cards ready.

First is "Mama Puss", coloured with copic pens and die cut with a stitched die.  Side edges are also diecuts, I've added mulberry flowers and punched sprigs, Patterned paper from Stampin up and a punched sentiment completes the card.

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #196 All Creatures Great & Small - 15/5/18

Late posting today, nothing better than finding your telephone line is down and it will take 5 days for someone to repair, whatever is wrong.  Verdict - tree roots (large gum trees planted by the local council) apparently, temporarily fixed, could go again at anytime!!!! Not Happy Jan.

This fortnight we are looking for Animals

Our Sponsors are:
MMEDEL ILLUSTRATIONS
 Prize: 3 images
WINK WINK INK
Prize - $15 worth of images
KNITTY KITTY DIGIS
Prize: 3 images

Knitty Kitty Digis' - Kitty Balloons feature on this Birthday card.  Have to say, I love these cats.  This time I tried something different.  I printed the image twice and the front heart and cat balloons again.  The first image I used as a background and coloured it with different inks.  Then coloured the cat and balloons with copic pens, fussy cut and layered onto the background.

For the front heart and blue cat balloons I coloured them with copic pens also and again fussy cut, they have been layered with a spring, so they wobble.

My second project is with Mmedel Illustrations' "April Fox and May Fox colouring Page"
Had lots of fun with these two images to create a quote page in a journal. Who would've quessed " April Showers bring May Flowers" originally came from a poem written in the 1550s.

April Fox has been paper pieced whilst May Fox has been transferred onto a page and coloured with water pencils.  Lots of flowers, toadstool, rain drops and cloud complete the pages.

If you like the toadstools, cloud and raindrops, check out Flourish with a Bling, sadly closing soon, but they do have a great sale on at the moment.

Perfume Bottle

The image on this journal page is from Sandi's Samples and is called Perfume Bottle. It is the free image for this month's Progressive challenge at Outlawz.

I wanted to try something different with the digital images and have decided on an Art Journal, which will hold my sketches but also digital images. A Journal that is not bulky and relies on paper, ink, pen and paint exclusively.  No embellishments and no glue.  It is a thick book, so hopefully as the pages turn over, my techniques get better.

The technique I used to transfer Sandi's image onto a page, seemed simple enough, let's say I hope it gets more simple as I continue through the book.

I've seen the transfer technique using an InkJet printer and wax paper.   Mmm! 4 pages later I'm thinking this can't be right.  I have printed on tissue paper with my laser printer - no problems.  But the wax paper was causing all sorts of problems for the printer, including nearly chewing it up and digesting it.

In Australia we have Wax paper, but we also have Grease-poof paper and I am beginning to wonder if  Grease-proof is called Waxed in other countries.  I know it is great for transfers.

Only I didn't have any, but I did have Baking Paper.   Yeah! a winner.

I used double sided tape to hold the Baking Paper onto a sheet of typing paper, printed, flipped the image over and ran a plastic card across the image.  It came out looking like a sketch (but I have included the credits on the image to show it is from Sandi.

Loved the technique, once I got it to work.  Image is then coloured with pencils, white ink and metallic gel pens. A couple of verses and patterns complete the page.

Now I can print up some images and transfer them to the pages, so when I go away all I have to pack is the book, pencils and pens.
