Simply Create Too, 4 Sept, 2020

We're making shaker cards this month, the image on my card is from Colour of Love (formerly  Lacy Sunshine} and is called, "Sleepy Time Evie Unicorn.

The image has been  coloured with copic pens, the stars coloured with a Wink of Stella gold pen.  I have used a blue card base and created the shaker over the front of the card with lots of little stars.  The image has been adhered to the front of the clear panel along with the sentiment an d some liquid pearls.

Now because I don't always think things through, as I had coloured the unicorn in girly colours and used a blue card, I inserted pink patterned paper into the centre of the card.  Much more girly!  Sorry, there are a few reflections in the clear panel.

Simply Ceate Too, 3 July, 2020

The theme this month is Red, White and Blue.  I've decided to use some papers from my stash, in fact just one patterned paper.  This paper had the little heart pattern one side, the other was striped with the scalloped border.

Diecut flower and stamped sentiment completes this very easy card.

Simply Create Too, Flowers, 1 May.

This month we would like you to use some flowers in your creations at Simply Create Too.

To create my card, I have glued a paper napkin onto a thin card base, trim down the side, added washi tape to a second card, and placed it inside the other,  to strengthen and give a border.

Sentiment is a word die.

Simply Create. Shaped cards, 6 March

Hi everyone this month's challenge at Simply Create Too is to make a shaped card, no squares and no rectangles.

Here is mine featuring an image from Polka Doodles, called Ruby Prom which I won a few months back.  I enlarge the image so that the legs did not show, printed on to cardstock and coloured with copic pens. Added a hand made flower and a stamped sentiment to complete the card

Simply Create Too, #153 - Oct 2019

This month's theme at Simply Create is "Spooky or Scary". As always I struggle with October and the many Halloween related challenges.  Something we don't celebrate and I usually end up with cute anyway.  But this year I thought I would try something different.........

I love making little journals, slightly bigger than an ATC card.  This one is a "Witches Journal" lots of mixed media, from pastes, inks etc to dried flowers.   A journal for her spells on the pages as she writes and collects information.

Simply Create Too, #149 - June 2019

The theme at Simply Create Too is "Lots of Flowers" Now that gave me license to go crazy with a mixed media collage.

I love playing around with houses and gardens, and this theme was so much fun.  Lots of Flowers equates to lots of photos on the page.

I have kept an old personal telephone directory because each month has a picture of a different house and garden.  I love the pictures and knew one day I would start crafting with them.

Where to begin describing what I have done to the picture.  Firstly I had a frame that had a deep backing, so I was able to add lots and lots of layers.  Best I describe each picture.

I cut out the print of the House and garden, adhering it the the back of the frame.

Then I added paper flowers of different colours, a pink rose
and punched green branches which I adhered straight onto of the print.

Then on the white matting in front of the print (but under the glass) I added
Hollyhocks from Fred She Said, which I had coloured with copic pens.

The wooden branch and leaves have been coloured with various paints, inks and waxes.
Small paper flowers then added, these have all been adhered to the frame.
Also added some laser cut ivy to the bottom of the frame.

On the other side, I have used African violets from Fred She Said, again coloured with copic pens and layered onto the white matting under the glass.
But this time I have also added one bloom to the outside of the glass
(it is the one deep in the corner of the frame)

Wooden and diecut elements have been added throughout: lock on the gate, branches with leaves, ferns, butterflies and snail have been added as extra elements.
A cardboard fence (under the glass, but the lock is on top of the glass )
and some green ribbon.

The frame has been treated with gesso,
then painted with Acrylic chalk paints and acrylic wax.
Little wooden Love sign also added to the frame.
The large butterfly is also under the glass on the white matting.

My Lots of Flowers Frame of many layers.
Do check out the challenge and see everyone's flowers:

Simply Create Too, #146, February 2019

This month at Simply Create Too the theme is "Use Hearts".  I have used Scribbles, "Heart doodles."

I decided to stay away from the reds and pinks of February's Valentines day and go for something a little different.   I added the sentiment.  Printed and coloured with Touch and Little Tipsy pens.  Fussy cut following the line of the frame, then added loads of glitter and liquid pearls.

Layered onto purple and yellow cardstock.  Inside, I have used the same image, but I have removed most of the inside to the frame and added a short verse. By this stage I was thinking engagement card for someone who loves purple.

Simply Create Too # 143 - Shaker Card.

Great news today, I have been accepted to join the Design Team at Simply Create Too, this is a monthly challenge.  I am on the Blue team, and you will see my designs on the odd numbered challenges.

I think I have only ever made 3 shaker cards, this one being my 3rd, so I was out of my little comfort zone straight away.

I have a daughter in law who is a Stampin-Up demonstrator and she has introduced me to their products, which I have used in my shaker card.

Trying to be a little bit different, I have used a stamp and die for a mason jar, side on to hold a little wooden boat. But I have also made the bottle see through.

Hope you like it, I'm thinking maybe I should try some more shaker cards.
