Welcome to our last challenge for 2015, 5 more sleeps and we will be in 2016, where does the time go!

Our Sponsor this week is
PRIZE: a $12 gift certificate to the SAMI STAMPS STORE

I am in the middle of summer in Australia, but I know how I love bright colours in winter, so saying I chose "Frosty Hugs" for a winter card, coloured with bright copic and touch pens.  A last big hug for 2015 before we welcome 2016.

I love the effect I got on the snowman's hat, will be a while before I can get that effect again, my copic was running out.  Mounted onto bright purple patterned paper from Close to my Heart, I have added glitter snowflakes and small crystal bling to complete my card.

Check out the challenge for more winter creations, remember it does not have to be a card.

This weeks challenge is "Buttons" and our sponsor is:

Morgans Art

As I always find a decorative piece hard to do, always looking to do a narrative piece, especially in my collages, for me to use buttons, I needed an image with buttons, so I chose this adorable image called Winter from Morgans Art.

Cass Creating Now Tutorial - Multi Folded Gate Card, 4 December, 2015

Hi I have another tutorial for Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog today.
Check out their tutorial page, lots of great ideas.

Multi Folded Gate Card

Card stock 2 pieces 10 inches x 6 inches
 Card stock in contrasting colour 1 - 4  pieces 1¾ x 5 inches
  Card stock in contrasting colour 1 - 4  pieces 1¾ x 6 inches
Card stock in contrasting colour 2 - 4  pieces 1¾ x 5 inches
Card stock in contrasting colour 2 - 1  piece 4 x 6 inches
 Card stock in contrasting colour 2 - 1 piece 1¾ x 10 inches
 Edge Punch
Glue/Tape of your choice
The images I have used are:
"Christmas Angel," "Christmas Candle," "Christmas Scene 1," and "Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh."

Additional Notes:
Both sides of this card can be seen, so we decorate both sides.  If you are using a patterned paper or textured card stock, you need to be aware that each piece of the card has a mirrored side as well, as with the "Christmas Angel" and  "Christmas Candle." I printed them in mirror versions.

Take each of  the 10 inches x 6 inches pieces and score at the 4 inch mark, making sure that if  you have texture to your card stock that each piece is scored differently; one with patterned side down, the other with patterned side up.

Next you need to rule a line on the unscored section  commencing 4½  inch from the bottom of the short side on an angle to the score line at the 4 inch mark.   See photo.  Do this to both pieces.

  Cut along the drawn line.

Use an edge punch along the cut side.  Check your punch to see where it ends. You need to make sure you don't punch past the 4 inch score line.  There will be a small amount not punched.   Trim that to score line with scissors.

Placing on a scoreboard, bottom flat edge uppermost, you will already have the 4 inch scored,
so now also score at the 6 inch and 8 inch measurements.  It is important to leave this scoring to last, so that the card stock is flat when it goes through the edge punch.

Do this to both sides.  These are your two mirrored pieces to create the card blank.

Place one side over the over, so that the two 4 inch wide sections are on top of each other
and adhere them together.  This is the back of your card.

The card will fold back and forth with the contrasting colours.  Leave the folding until the panels are on.

Tip Time

Remembering that every piece of this card has a mirrored mate, it is probably best to message each panel separately against where it is going to be stuck.  The best way to get the correct angle is to place the panel slightly more up, leaving a slight larger gap at the bottom.   Using a pen, mark at the card level, and cut on that line.  When centred, the panel will have the correct slant.

All panels are now cut and you can ink at this stage if you wish.

The top picture shows all panels adhered.  The front and back of card looks the same.
The second picture shows the centre panel 4 x 6 inches in place.  You will have to trim this piece slightly.   Once all the panels are adhered, fold and crease them.

This card is not going to stay closed without some help. Below, I have it folded and held it down with a ruler.  This is where we use the 1¾ x 10 strip of card stock.  Curl it around your card to mark where you need to put tape to secure it into a band.

Once secured,  you can slip it over the card to keep it closed.

Here is the finished card.

Happy Crafting!

Merry Christmas!
