DSC #159 - Winter/Snow

This month's sponsor is D'ecosse's Dynamite Doodles, I love working with Lisa's designs, it was 37 degrees celsius here, the day I chose this cool kit.  I chose "A Mix of Winter 2 Patterned Paper Mini Kit", which has 6 great papers.

Created a bit of magic with one of the papers, "snow covered"  The photos my daughter took were very dark, so I used the snow covered paper as a mask, not only did it lighten the photo, but also highlighted the snow.  I then used the patterned paper as frames, paper strips and Title tile.  I made a crystal blue heart to complete the page.  This little man has become quite grown up in the last 5 years.  lol haven't they all.

This is the original photo I used for the background

Our sponsor this month is
"All Dressed Up"

Always wonderfully delicate and whimsical designs, we received "Follow your Dreams" and "Girl on a Bicycle" for our travel Theme.

I immediately thought of the song "Up Up and Away" and decided to use both the images in my digital layout.   (Please remember if entering the Digitally Sweet challenge, we are looking for Digital entries)

I created a gradient for the background, adding a couple of star brushes.  The images have been altered to white lines instead of black.  Words to the song and a grunge edging complete the layout.

Digitally Sweet October Challenge - Fruity

Our sponsor this month is
Lacy Sunshine
This months challenge is all about fruit.   The image I have used from Lacy Sunshine is called, Twirlberry.  I coloured her with copic pens, fussy cut and then scanned the coloured image onto my computer.

For the background I used some pieces from Raspberry Roads.  The first picture is the digital image I created, the next photo is of the card I made after printing the image at home (I don't know why it looks a bit washed out, doesn't in real).  As I was having some printing done professionally, I added this image to the order, the bottom photo is the card I made with that print.

Digitally Sweet September Challenge - Anything With Wings

Our Sponsor this month is

 Sparkle N Sprinkle

I chose Welcome Autumn for this month.  One of the reasons I love using digital images is that I can add a little dimension.  This image comes in a set with butterlies and a litle bird on a branch.

I took that little bird, added a shadow to him and placed him in 3 places on the image.  The one on the left is actually over the little bird that is already incorporated in the image, one I placed near the kittens paw and the other one is straight above the kittens ear and the pumpkin.

Printed the image and coloured with Copic pens, then fussy cut and layered onto black cardstock.  Because I fussy cut the image, the butterfly got cut away, so I added a paper one.

Mounted onto green card and added a sentiment to complete the card.  A hybrid prject using both digital and tradional methods to create a card.
