My Own Kind of Hat

The last page of my song journal is now complete, all I have to do now is update the cover.  This cute image is from Julie Spiri and is called "Funny Hat"

I have used pencils, pens, markers etc to colour the image.  Also a bit of paper piecing.  The cat, clock, lamp and phonograph are all mounted on 3d squares.  Great song by Merle Haggard

CHNC Christmas Challenge #434

Time for another Christmas challenge, this week's option is "include a house or other building".  This week I have used little wooden houses and church

The windows of the buildings have had glossy accents added for the window panes, the roofs glitter from the shining star, which is also wooden.  The green cardstock has been distressed around the edges.

Springtime

Oh how I wish I was heading into Spring, that would mean Summer was around the corner.  Alas, I am in the middle of Autumn with all its glorious colours, but also heading towards Winter, my least favourite season.

I have made a screen shaped card and decorated it with a rubber stamp from Stampin Up called Lovely Lattice, which has been coloured with a variety of alcoholic markers and fussy cut.

Crafter's Cafe # 217 Eastor and/or Florals

Our sponsor this fortnight at the Crafter's Cafe Challenge is:

Prize is 3 images
And the themes are Easter and/or Florals

I chose Sheepski's "Bad Hare Day" colouring the image with alcoholic markers and fussy cutting.  The floral patterned papers are from Stampin up.  I've added diecuts, flowers, leaves and a couple of sentiments to complete the card.  Laughter is the best medicine and thought it would make a great card for someone needing a bit of cheering.

Quotes

My little planner I bought to use this year has Months and days, but no dates (which I thought was a great idea at the time) I don't like it and will make sure for next year I have all days numbered.  In the mean time, I have been adding some quote pages as the year rolls on and this is one of them.

The image is from Oddball and is called Sorry Sally.  She came with some sentiments, but I have added a different one.  Sorry Sally is this months freebie at The Oulawz Monthly Progressive challenge.

Coloured with different alcoholic pens, fussy cut and layered onto die cut frames.  Handwritten quote.  So pleased I have now master my Crop a Dile and have neat holes!

There WAS an Elephant in the Room

After being under the care of a Surgeon and an Oncologist for nine and half years, late last year my surgeon advised that although I still need to seem him for yearly checkups he was happy to say the cancer had not returned.  Back in March, my Oncologist advised that it was to be my the last visit.  Which was great news, it did seem a very long journey.

This card has been made to send to my Oncologist as a thank you for the treatment that enables me to be healthy today, it was not always good and at times I did become quite ill.  Where as my surgeon is a quiet, gentle human being, my Oncologist is a happy, jovial man and they complimented each other during this period of my life.  Both caring doctors.

Coloured with copic pens, I did change the bottom sentiment around.  Added liquid pearls to her nails.

CHNC Christmas #433

This week's option is to use a Snowman or woman or family.  I have used a snowman from Robyn's Fetish Store (which has sadly closed sometime ago) called, Snowdays are Fundays.

The image has been coloured with copic pens and fussy cut, layered onto white cardstock.  The card stock has been diecut with a curved die, then distressed and torn.  Silver sentiment completes the card.

Getting Married

This card has been made for a special couple that I know, who are getting married shortly. They are an older couple and  I wanted something pretty and shabby chic.I steered away from white and used Stampin up papers, very vanilla and a peachy coloured cardstock. I have used from my stash  mulberry flowers, wooden elements and bow.  Also lots of diecuts and punches.

The papers are from Stampin up and although it looks white in the photo, the cardstock I used is called Very Vanilla, I wanted a more vintage look and white was not going to work.

Lots of diecuts (I used the new chrome cutting plate from Sizzix, and it is amazing)  Although lucky I did take a photo as I noticed close up a couple of spots that I had not removed, all now completed and ready for the mail.

The name of the Bride and Groom together with the date of the wedding has been added to the top heart (I removed it in the photo for their privacy)

Delightful

This little, tiny dog has bought so much joy to so many people she meets .  When we bought her she was 10 weeks old and weighed 1kg.  Bit worried about the weight, took her to the vet who said she was healthy and strong. Sasha still wears her original collar, the first winter we bought her a couple of jumpers to keep her warm (she does get cold easily), last year we bought a couple more, the same size.  Wont be shopping this winter as they all still fit.

She attracts attention wherever we take her.  Even stopping traffic sometimes so the people in their cars can ask us about her. Young children have so much fun playing with her, they sit on the ground and because she is so little, can pick her up and put them in their laps. As do the people in wheel chairs we meet, after picking Sasha up we sit her gently in their laps and they are able to hold and pat this little dog.

Journalling:
Sasha is 2.5 years old, weighs 2.5 kg.  she stands around 6.5 inches at shoulder
height and is adored and spoiled by all.  Her personality is 8ft tall.  Rarely barks, loves children, adults young and old, dogs big and small.  Fearless, funny and a pure delight to have in our lives.
Definitely not a teacup, maybe a Mug sized dog.  Smallest of the litter and just stopped growing around 9 months of age.

Hi everyone, very happy to announce I have been invited to join the team at Unicorn Challenge Blog.  This challenge commences the first Tuesday of each month and the theme for April is Spots and/or Stripes

I have used items from my stash, including an image from Fairy Inks called " Demera - Block Party".  Coloured wiht copic pens with white uniball pen for spots on blouse and balloons.

Paper is from Kaisercraft, the flipside of the striped paper is what I have used for the oval. Small flowers and leaves (uniball again for the dots) complete the card.

Crafter's Cafe # 216 Time or Traffice Lights

This fortnight's sponsor at The Crafter's Cafe is:
Great prize, $10.00  of images

I chose "Build a Banner" to make my card.  Great image, there are 12 different pennants to choose from to create your banner.

I digitally coloured the banner, hand draw the string.  Added a sentiment and silhouette of a car, he has just announced he is starting to save for a car, so that he can learn how to work on it and have it ready when he gets his licence.  Needless to say this is a 14 year old rev head.

Then I used the traffic light colours of red, amber and green cardstock to mount the image.  Always find it hard making a card for teenage boys but I think this one may have ticked the right box.

Pearly Sparkles Challenge, April 2019

This month's challenge at Pearly Sparkles is Flowers or Showers.  Decided to do a bit of mixed media for this challenge.

This is an old Enid Blyton story book, I did start it as a Journal back in 2014, but the end of 2013 had been very traumatic, Dad died as a result of injuries in a car accident and I just couldn't do journalling..

I happened to find it when I was cleaning out a drawer and decided now was the time, to move on.  I pulled off as much as I could of the old altered cover and then slathered on the black gesso.

Then I went mad with Fresco Acrylic chalk paints (my favourite acrylic paints), used stencils,  handmade flowers as well as some small mulberry flowers and leaves. A lock completes the cover.
