Fridge Magnets

This is the first in a series of Fridge Magnets I am making for my elderly Mother, she loves fridge magnets and has lots and lots.  And yes I can call her elderly if I am old then Mum has to be elderly.

The series I am doing will all feature Lacy Sunshine Designs, a lot of them have great silhouettes so that I can fussy cut them cleanly, coloured with copic pens, this one also has liquid pearls and glitter added.

I use Modge Podge to stiffen the images, attach them to the pegs and to also attach the magnet to the peg.  Keep watching there will be more coming.....

As I always take photos outside, my car seemed to be the best place to take the photos.

Side on so you can see the peg
My car is closer to the colour in the middle photo, but here she is eready for a ride lol.

Carl the Snowman - It's Winter time

Carl is from Robyn's Fetish Store.  Love that happy face.

Coloured with Copic Pens, just highlighting shadows in grey on the snowman himself.  Fussy Cut and mounted on patterned paper ( it sort of reminded me of fireworks and celebrating, and Carol looks like he is celebrating winter), and olive green cardstock.  Added some silver ribbon to top and bottom on front of card.

Inside more of the designer paper and I have used some of the silver ribbon to form a tree and added some metal trees and star.

Ms Turner and Hootch is the cute image on my card, it comes from Robyn's Fetish Store, and  I received it recently as a gift.  Coloured with copic pens and fussy cut.

The flowers are hand made, using rubber stamps and diecuts, each has a micro button in the centre.  Circles are diecuts.  No sentiment, as a lot of my cards are given away and I encourage people to write letters/ children to draw pictures in them to send to family and friends.

DSC #128 - What's in you Bag - 20 February, 2015

Our sponsor this week is
Stitchy Bear

You will find lots of wonderful artists at Stitchy Bear, I chose an image from Ken Benner Designs called "Grey Elephant"

This week's challenge was a new one for me, "What's in your bag" have a look in your handbag, craftbag etc and find something that could do with a facelift.

I chose my dull dark blue diary.  Grey Elephant had to become Blue (my favourite colour)  I have coloured the image digitally, adding a title, and printed onto canvas photo paper.  You can see from the photo below, that the image is darker on one side of the paper than the other, I chose the darker image to work with.

I took off the vinyl cover and found I had a good cardboard cover to work with, using Modge Podge I attached the image around the book. One side at a time, to allow for drying, after it had dried I added some ribbon, flowers and gems, I then modge podged over the entire cover to give it some protection, after all it has to last until the end of the year.  I've already found it easier to locate in my bag.  My diary is now my Elephants Never Forget Book, lets hope that helps me to remember things.

For this challenge I chose, "Sun Goddess Flower Face" from Fairy Ink.  I have created a page for my Art/Holiday/Junk Journal, there will probably be bits and pieces stuck over the butterflies as the trip continues, but the sun will shine away on this page.
For the love of Sun, Summer and Hot Weather

I don't know where to begin to explain what I have done.

So let's try a Recipe
Watercolour Paints, Micro pens/ Staedler Pens, Ink pads, Glitter, Stamps, Tangles, Embossing powder, Luminescence paint; water based textas in greens, purples, oranges and yellows.  And A WHOLE LOT OF FUN.  I just sort of went crazy.  I printed the moon twice once on the page and the second one I coloured and cut out with some rays I add drawn and stuck this Sun over the original one for some extra dimension.
