This little 3.5 x 2.5 inch Mixed Media Art Journal was inspired by a competition to honour "The Black Angus" at this year's Royal Melbourne Show.
The cover has been made with brown paper, glue, embossing folder and oil pastels to create a Faux Leather look.
Inside the covers is a short history of the cattle in question. Some things I have used: water colour and acrylic paints, oil pastels, embossing paste, stamps , collage, different papers, some hand drawing, white gel pens and black markers. The Black Angus is a large rubber stamps, so I stamped the image a few times, scanned it to my computer and then shrunk it to the sizes I needed, printed, cut and coloured with copic pens.
After delivering the journal last week for judging, I received an email last night advising I had placed 2nd. I am over the moon.

Path of Positivity - Curiousity (This project began when I saw a craft competition for The Black Angus, different types of craft could be entered and I chose to enter the Art Journal section. I didn't know much about the animal to begin with, but found out a number of facts along the way, not only about the animal but how I could use different products. )
