Embossing With Foil

Today's card  is a bit different. The process for the background which comprises of foil (what you use in the kitchen) cardstock, embossing folder and ink.

I have covered the cardstock with the foil, making sure it was smooth on the top, and neatly folded over the edges (it does not cover the back of the cardstock)

Ran the foil/cardstock through an embossing machine and then lightly covered it with ink. Layered onto a white card base. The image is a rubber stamp, but I cannot remember the name of her), small sentiment and ribbon do complete the card.

Childhood Books

I became an avid reader at the age of seven, I really didn't have a choice, I was very ill in hospital and not allowed to roll over, sit up and getting out of bed was a thing to dream about in the coming months. So, I learnt to engross myself in the books.  Some lovely ladies would bring around books to the children's ward for us to read and keep.  Obviously a charity to which people donated books.  They were a highlight of my stay as were the young policemen that would throw a party for the children in the hospital after their passing our parade.

This image is called "Little Pupil" and is by the talented Julia Spiri.  If you would like to receive an image please join her facebook page and become a VIP, Julia sends out an image a month.

I hove coloured the image with copic pens and fussy cut.  Before printing, I added some of my favourite childhood book titles.

I have added some patterned paper from Stampin-up which is covered in words.  Wooden letters make up the word Notes and three little candies in the corner and pearls down the side complete the notebook cover.

My quote for the day

Here is another page for my quote journal.  Whimsical Bunny is from Beccy's Place.  Love the quote from John Steinbeck.

I printed, coloured and fussy cut Whimsical Bunny once.  Then I typed the quote and placed the bunny in lots of places before printing.  All coloured with copic pens.

Southern Girls - Father's Day / Male

Our sponsor for this fortnight's challenge is

For this challenge I stepped out of my comfort zone and used rubber stamps.  In fact all products used are from Stampin Up. I have a daughter in law who is a demonstrator for the company and she is trying to convert me to stamping.

I thought the sentiment would be great for Father's Day Card or even a birthday card.

Blue Eyes

Here is a layout from our youngest grandson's scrapbook, I usually digitally scrap a photo and then use the photo in a traditional layout for his scrapbook, we give the scrapbooks to the grandchildren when they turn 18.  Which means I need to get a move on with this one's book as he is now 14.

Whether the facts on this page are correct or not, I have no idea, but thought it was an interesting.  He probably got his blue eyes from his father (our son in law).
