Crafter's Cafe - 15th, October 2024

 This month's challenge is Fantasy.

Great sponsor for The Crafter's Cafe

I chose to use an image I have had for a short time, "Buttercup Cottage" but had no time to use until now.  We have at long last moved (after 47 years).  Finally have my craft room set up and found my camera connection, so after a whirlwind tiring year, I am creating again.

I printed the image on a patterned digital paper.  Coloured the image with Prismacolour Pencils.  Added some liquid pearls, some little punched flowers and a verse from the poem "Buttercups and Daisies by Eliza Cook.

Pearly Sparkles - 1st September, 2024

This is a special month at Pearly Sparkles, we remember the lady that created this challenge, Traci. In honor of Traci we incorporate some things she loved for this challenge.

Traci's Recipe Challenge
Pink
Pearls
Sparkle

You must use at least one of these for the challenge.

As Traci loved and even owned some little Hedgehogs, I love to use them in the challenge .  I have an image from Di's Digis called, Hedgehogs Sunflower Friend.  I have coloured the image with copic pens, adding sparkles to sunflowers and liquid pearls to the geraniums.  The image has been layered onto some brickwork patterned paper.

Crafter's Cafe - 15th August, 2024

We have two great sponsors this month for our Rainbow/Use Bright Colours challenge.

 ADU

and

Dr Digi

I chose to use "Bobs Balloons" the coloured version from Dr Digi.  I created a digital coloured background to go along with the colourful Bob.

I have printed this image and made a card, BUT I have also moved houses at the same time and Bob is in a box, safe and sound, I just have to find him.  So here is the digital version.

Crafter's Cafe - 15th July, 2024

Crafter's Cafe challenges have changed to Anything Goes, optional twist.

This months option is balloons and Polkadoodles has some cute balloon images and are the sponsor for this month.

I chose to use "Honey Pie Sweet Balloons.  With more packing and less room to create at the moment, I coloured the image with prisma coloured pencils.  I added extra balloons.  Once coloured I scanned the image, adding the balloon sparkle, sentiment and numbers on the balloons.  I also printed the balloons onto an envelope.

Pearly Sparkles, 1st July, 2024

Christmas in July is the theme.  I have used an image from Hettie, called Beach Pony Float.  In fact you may see more of this image as I have made a few different cards with this delightful image and one that suits Australia at Christmas time.

This is a pretty simple card, I have coloured the image with copics, typed a sentiment and added glitter to the water.

A Place to Start - 1st July, 2024

This month at A Place to Start we have an Anything Goes challenge.  A couple of months ago, after we had packed up the craftroom (yes, we are still packing) I realised I needed a birthday card for our youngest grandson, what do you do for a 19 year old! Then panic sat in as I remembered I was also catching up with a 12 year old whose birthday card was due.

Bit of a search on google bought up a great image, in fact I think there is 16 in the set, colours to suit a lot of people.  Here is the link "Video Game Controller"  Each image is very clear and colourful and not expensive.

I downloaded the set, made one into a black and white for our grandson (colours of his favourite football team) and used a blue image for the younger of the boys.

After typing in the sentiment, printed and folded the card, luckily quick and easy as I still had to decorate the cake.

Crafter's Cafe - 15th June, 2024

Great sponsor at The Crafter's Cafe this month.

Sheepski designs

If you have never checked out her gnomes, have a look, she has amazing gnomes in the store, this month the theme at The Crafter's Cafe is to "Include a Gnome".

My project this month is not completed, for a number of reasons.  Firstly we are moving and in the middle of packing up our 46 year old home.

Now the packing is going great, thankfully we got a long settlement date.  But something had to give, when your craft/art studio is packed up. I still have a glue stick, my prismacolour pencils and some paper.  Other than that a whole lot of boxes.

I started this card, by colouring with pencils, wasn't happy so decided to use the computer.  Liked what I saw, printed and then used my snow marker, WAIT, oh no, my heat gun is in a box, but which box? So, I decided to use my hair dryer.  Disaster, with comments from hubby, too strong, too much etc etc.

I have reprinted and the card will be finished in a couple of months, in time for Christmas.

Looks like the next few months could be a hit and miss, although I did make a few cards earlier in the year.

Festive Friday at The Outlawz - 7 June, 2024

 This month's themes are:

Christmas
Father's Day
Flowers
Dogs or Cats

I chose to go with the Dogs or Cats theme and have used an image from Ike's, called Basket Case. I have coloured the image with copic pens.  I then layered image onto some black cardstock and fussy cut to give a border. Background patterned paper and a stamped sentiment completes the card.
