Wilkes the Pirate and Parrot Whiskers

Something a little bit different this time.  I love to do digital scrapping and I am on a couple of DT for wonderful digital images/kits.  With everyone going digital today, private invitations flying through facebook and other social media, mobile phones that can send photos, email invitations the list goes on,  I thought it might be fun to combine a digital image which I have coloured with copic pens and little bit of photoshopping to create a digital invitation that could be sent out electronically.

The image I have used is this months freebie at Lacy Sunshine, I love her girls and animals, but I really love the little fellows she is drawing, this one is called "Wilkes the Pirate and Parrot Whiskers", so so cute, check out the store HERE.  One of the good things about this project, after making the invitations, you still have a coloured image to make a matching birthday card. lol.  Normally I don't use watermarks, but I have this time as the invitation is completely digital.

This is the image once I have coloured it with copic pens. I used a lot of pen to give the image an intense colour.  The colours do alter once the image has been scanned to a computer
I scanned the image as a jpg file.  I created different coloured layers, placing the image on top, typed the invitation words and saved it all as a jpg.  If I was sending them out I would put more details regarding the party, but I was really happy with the result and might try a few more.  Just something a little different, saves on postage, hope you like it.
