Robyn's Fetish Challenge #331 - Anything Goes, 28 Aug, 2016

This posting is photo intensive, if you just want to see the finished creation scroll to the bottom.
If you would like to see how it was made, keep reading

Our theme this week is Anything Goes

And our sponsor is
A CREATIVE NEED
PRIZE: the winner’s choice of 3 digital stamps from the A CREATIVE NEED STORE

This darling little window was just what I needed for a project I am entering into a competition in Australia. The image is called "Cottage Window" .

First things first, I made a box and covered it with stampin up paper..
Adding some grass to the bottom.

I printed out several of the window images, with a mirror version as well.
 Each window took 3 images.
Taking a normal viewed image and a mirrored image I coloured them with copic pens and fussy cut around the edges, cut out the glass panes (around the little plant) and small cuts above and below the shutters. Reversed the images and glued them together, this way both sides of the shutters are visible.

The third image I coloured the window frame and again cut away the glass pane and attached the image to some patterned paper.   I then placed a heavy layer of glossy accents over the patterned paper to represent the glass.  This was done on two sides of the box.

Next came the door, diecut a rectangle and edging, added the same patterned paper to the front of the door, with a layer of glossy accents, putting the same patterned paper inside the door.

Micro buttons have been used for the door knobs.

Although the bottom of the box was made with craftcard, I used a stronger cardboard for the roof and chimney, these being the lid and the handle.

 FRONT AND BACK

BOTH SIDES

Next came the decorations, creating the gardens, there are hyacinths, roses,
purple hollyhocks, daisies, lilly of the valley etc.

Both sides

Font and Back

Front has a rambling rose, back has an apple tree, daisies, roses and a toadstool and a little fence.

Next came the additional items, lots of butterflies, little pearls.  The front of the roof has a stork, which I made by using a rubber stamp, scanning the image and using some photoshop magic, changing the black parts to white, printed three times, coloured with copic pens, fussy cut and then stuck all three images together with mod podge, which gave it a strong structure.

I managed to find some little baby dolls, painted some nappies on them and added wings, one can be seen sitting on the front door step inside the door another is hiding behind the chimney.

The chimney has been covered with bright cardstock, which has been embossed with a brick pattern.  Raffia and hessian fill the chimney creating a nest for the little mother bird (her chicks can been seen playing out the back of the cottage).

Closeups of the back of the cottage, baby birds, roses, bird house and apples.

 THE FINISHED CREATION
Bows, pearls and a tag complete this little gift box, I wanted it to be bright and playful, hopefully I have achieved that effect for my New Baby Gift Box to keep on the shelf for display.

and yes, it does open, all ready for a present.
