I don't buy colouring books or pages, haven't for many many years. In my late teens and early twenties my girlfriend and I would spend many quiet hours colouring in colouring books. Long before it became fashionable and then only in children's colouring books as that was all that was available.
In fact, my girlfriend still colours in the books with her pencils.
I was on Facebook the other day and saw a new image from Julie Spiri, called
Craftroom. And I knew I had to get it, the result is a collage wall hanging for my craft room.
I printed the image as 11 inches x 16, in three sections and then some parts again. Each section was coloured with copic pens, then cut at the bottom, so the frame only overlapped in certain places. The whole image, once put together was layered onto a thick manilla folder
This is photo overload, but I can explain each section, I have paper pieced and added many elements.
My Craft Room
Top shelf - The roof line, front paper and jars are all paper pieced. Gold ink for the bottle label, black gem for the nail holding the sign.
Suitcase and front envelope are paper pieces, the little jar of glitter, has ad glitter and a transparent layer of window cardstock from Stampin up over the top to create a glass jar. Suitcase also has added gold ink.
Flower and mug both paper pieced and mounted.
Tape and Album paper pieced, silver edging added to thick book.
Chest and front of scissors barrel have been paper pieced. Gold ink and black marker added to the chest.
This photo shows a button added to the jar. Small flower also added.
Jars near the paint and lid of jar paper pieced. Fabric added to the baskets. Little white glitter hearts have been added in different places through out the craftroom.
The little cotton reel is wound with embroider cotton.
Paints and copic containers are paper pieced.
Sewing machine and fabric are paper pieced, the machine is stuck not with glue, the bottom of the fabric with 3d dimensions, there is also a silver edging added to the fabric.
And finally, a bumble bee photobombing a closeup.
