Simply Create Too, #149 - June 2019

The theme at Simply Create Too is "Lots of Flowers" Now that gave me license to go crazy with a mixed media collage.

I love playing around with houses and gardens, and this theme was so much fun.  Lots of Flowers equates to lots of photos on the page.

I have kept an old personal telephone directory because each month has a picture of a different house and garden.  I love the pictures and knew one day I would start crafting with them.

Where to begin describing what I have done to the picture.  Firstly I had a frame that had a deep backing, so I was able to add lots and lots of layers.  Best I describe each picture.

I cut out the print of the House and garden, adhering it the the back of the frame.

Then I added paper flowers of different colours, a pink rose
and punched green branches which I adhered straight onto of the print.

Then on the white matting in front of the print (but under the glass) I added
Hollyhocks from Fred She Said, which I had coloured with copic pens.

The wooden branch and leaves have been coloured with various paints, inks and waxes.
Small paper flowers then added, these have all been adhered to the frame.
Also added some laser cut ivy to the bottom of the frame.

On the other side, I have used African violets from Fred She Said, again coloured with copic pens and layered onto the white matting under the glass.
But this time I have also added one bloom to the outside of the glass
(it is the one deep in the corner of the frame)

Wooden and diecut elements have been added throughout: lock on the gate, branches with leaves, ferns, butterflies and snail have been added as extra elements.
A cardboard fence (under the glass, but the lock is on top of the glass )
and some green ribbon.

The frame has been treated with gesso,
then painted with Acrylic chalk paints and acrylic wax.
Little wooden Love sign also added to the frame.
The large butterfly is also under the glass on the white matting.

My Lots of Flowers Frame of many layers.
Do check out the challenge and see everyone's flowers:
