The Crafter's Cafe #252 - 15th October, Pink (Breast cancer Awareness Month)

The Crafter's Cafe challenge this fortnight is all about using some Pink and remembering to be aware of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Having been there and survived, I wish all the love, hope and power to those going through this journey today.  Go girls!

The sponsor is Sheepski, I chose an image called Alana to make a contrasting ribbon doll for one I did some time ago using another Sheepski image, called My Fair Lady, where I used blue lace and ribbons.

The process is fairly simple.  I printed the image twice, coloured  one copy with copic pens, the other I left uncoloured.

Once coloured it is a matter of working out where you want the fall of the skirt to start.  Cut off any of the image below that mark and start glueing the ribbons, lace, beads, whatever you want to use just above that cut.

I start glueing from the back, remembering that you are attaching the front layer first, then just keep building up layers.  Once you are happy with the fullness of the skirt, you can add a layer to the front of the image if you wish, this image doesn't have a defining waist line, so I then added ribbon around the image to create a band.

Once all that is done, and you have previously cut the uncoloured image to the same size, you can glue both images together, sandwiching the skirt between the two layers.

I also added some little pink flowers to complete her gown.
