DSC # 123 - Dance like nobody's watching - 16 January, 2015

Our Spnsor this week is
Luna Girl

The image I have used is called "Dance like nobody's Watching", which I also used as the title of my layout.

I have used some sheet music background paper, which I have lightly erased cetrtain parts, the gold frames and flourishes come from Retro Designs "A New Dawn", although this kit is not available at the moment, check out the other kits, they are all beautiful retro designs.

I have coloured the flourishes to match the Luna Girl image.  The photo is of my mother in law dancing with her father, we think it was her 21st.

I have coloured him with copic pens and a silver pen,  really hard to see the silver in the photo, it is on the aqua part of the dragon.  I already had some designer paper with starfish which seemd to match the image, silver ribbon and sentiment complete the card.

DSC # 122 - Layouts Only- Winter - 9 January 2015

Our great sponsor this week is

All the DT are using the same kit this week, called "Happy Noel"so you will see lots of different elements, papers and colours for lots of inspiration.

As I was using a nature photo, I kept mainly to the greens and red pieces and the little snowman.  I also added little birds (hoping spring is around the corner).  I have to admit where I live we do not get to see this much snow, in fact we don't get snow at all.

They have so many gorgeous fairies, I chose Fae 29 for my Red and Pink Card.  She has been coloured with Copic Pens, fussy cut and mounted onto red paper and pink cardstock, I've added red mushrooms, a pink flower and a diecut with typed sentiment.  I didn't photograph the inside of the card, but the pink cardstock is bright green on the other side, matches the leaves on the image.

My something new is the pop-up box card, I have never made one before and was not sure if I could.  But once started realised that they are very easy to make.  Lots of instructions can be found on Pininterest and Utube.

DSC # 121 - What's Your Favourite Shape - 2 January, 2015

Our Sponsor this week is

I chose "Purple Orchid"  (which is a kit with coloured papers and a digital image)for my digital layout and my favourite shape would be a circle.

I also had a bit of help from some software that I have had for quite some time, Poppy Hill's Dazzling Reflections, which makes beautfiful kaleidoscopes.  I have used 2 of the kits papers to create the flowers, the back of the circle has been made by mirroring one of the papers.

I suppose I love the circle because of the many symbols it represents, we have the cycle of life, circle of friends, the clock hands that go round and round.  The wedding band and the seasons coming and going in an endless circle.

A circle is the reflection of eternity. It has no beginning and it has no end
- and if you put several circles over each other, then you get a spiral.
