This card, which is larger than I usually make, is for my daughter who was born the day after St Patricks day, 36 years ago. We always tell her if she had come a bit quicker we might have had to call her Patricia, in honour of St Patricks Day. This year I know she needs a little cheering so I made her this card with Cabaret Lolly from the Paper Shelter, with some alterations, Lolly is usually winking but I now have her looking straight out from the card, added a shamrock bow to her cane and changed her hat from a bowler to a top hat, making her more of a little green leprechaun for the card, coloured with copic and touch pens. I printed sheet music and several little blessings onto pink and green vellum, die cut green shamrocks to place on her hat and on the background. Inside I wrote a poem:
Due on the Seventeenth
Born on the Eighteenth
What a difference a day makes
A little girl born
In the morn
Her name - Kellie
Which rhymes with belly, smelly and jelly
But if she had not tarried
She would share her day with St Patrick
And then could have been known as Patricia (and her last name which rhymes with patrick)
