Robyn's Fetish Challenge # 287, Anything for Halloween , 25 October, 2015

Our sponsor for this week is
  LIMITED RUNS DIGI STAMPS
PRIZE: the winner’s choice of 3 digital stamps from the LIMITED RUNS STORE.

I chose "Speedy Witch" from Limited Runs Digi Stamps for my Halloween project.

Although Halloween is slowly becoming more popular, it is not a big event in Australia. For this weeks inspiration I thought I would go all out and make a Halloween decoration.  I sort of know the colours are black, purple, orange and green, that people use witches, owls, black cats and pumpkins etc.  So I set about turning a Maple Syrup (love maple syrup) bottle into a candle holder.

As I did not have any purple paint, I mixed some red and blue craft paint together, then added some silver glitter paint.  Poured the mixed paint into the empty bottle, put on the lid and shook it all around.  I let it dry for a while and then went back and turned it upside down to get the paint thicker.  Worked a treat, I didn't realise how easy it was to colour a bottle.

Next I needed an orange candle, none in the house, but I did have a white candle, again I went back to the basics and mixed red and yellow together until I got the orange I wanted.  I applied the paint to the candle, stuck the end in the bottle and left to dry.

I coloured Speedy Witch with Copic pens, fussy cut her, added glitter to her hair and boots and a black cat to her broom.   Used a round punch to make a moon from silver white card.  Made a paper owl, printed some bats from Robyn's Digital Stamps and More, called A Bit Batty. Attached them to the candle with split pins.  Also attached a digitally carved pumpkin, that I made some time ago.  Draped netting and cord around the bottle.

This photo is dark, only way I could get to show my pumpkin.
