Eggs

Collage Obsession's theme this week is Eggs.  Here's a digital  ATC using pieces fromWeeds and Wildflowers and a cute dragon from Janu Designs.

ATC time again

Love it when I make an ATC. Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week is all about Ribbons and Bows and, because my mind works in mysteries ways, I started singing to myself (well sometimes to myself) the old song Buttons and Bows, then realised no that wouldn't do!  what will I do!  I know said I as the light bulb in my head switched on, and I started singing 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the Old Oak Tree'.  Here is my Ribbons and Bows ATC for the challenge. Only lightly coloured with Touch and Copic Pens and some watercolouring, mounted on pale green card, wooden letter buttons and love bird from Crafty Emblies.  Who, I am totally in love with, as they make very small elements that I can use on my ATCs. I cut slits into the image and threaded the ribbon through, which has also been coloured with a copic pen, and added some small bows.

Animal Magic

The Paper Shelter challenge this week is all about animals.  I have kept it fairly simple, so the little image will stand out and then added lots of bling.  I have used Red and Purple papers.

CAS Get Well.

The Perfect Sentiments Challenge this week is for a clean and simple Get Well Card.  Here's my bright little CAS get well.  An image mounted on some purple and yellow papers.  Little mauve heart and rose bud added and of course the sentiment.

.

Bird Cage

I have a couple of these little bird cages, and thought it was time to use one.  They come from Crafty Emblies.  I gave the little cage a touch of acrylic paint, added some tiny pink roses, a little butterfly and a fanciful bird, painted with kindy glitter.  Mounted on pink paper and then onto a pink flower glitter paper.

Card is entered into:
The Shabby Tea Room challenge - Pink Party, with a photo for the theme.  First thing that caught my eye were the little bird houses and mint green ribbon, oval in centre reminded me of the body of my bird.

City Crafters Challene Blog - Wings.  Could be Angels, Butterflies etc - I chose Butterflies and a bird.

A small gift

I am making a series of altered matchboxes for a swap.  Here is the first one which I am putting in the current Hotshot Craft blog challenge - 'Anything but a card.'

It is a small matchbox, 2" x 1.5", I have used 3 different patterned papers, cheesecloth, rose buds, paper flower, crystal and pearl bling.  The inside of the boxes will not be altered, as I want to put some small gifts in each box.

Glue Glue and More glue

This small card features an illustration by Jessie Willcox Smith (c 1916) of' ' Mrs Doasyouwouldbedoneby', one of the fairies in Reverend Charles Kingsleys' 'The Water Babies, A Fairy Tale for a Land Baby'.  This is my favourite fairy tale and has been since I was 7 years old, a long long time ago.

If you have never read the story of this little chimney sweep, give yourself and your children a treat.

I have altered the illustration to black and white so that I could colour it with watercolours, I have added some watercoloured sea creatures, some real shells  (nearly out of shells, have to take a walk along the beach again next week), even a pearl or two.  The matrerial is white cheese cloth with some cream ribbon and blue twine.

This card is entered into the following challenges

Polkadoodles and Studio 12 - Fantasy/Fairy Tale
Robyns Fetish Challenge Blog - Ribbon and Twine
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes - Optional theme - Pile it on

Blackboard Technique

The theme at the City Crafter Challenge Blog this week is 'All that Glitters'.  I thought it might be good for me to try a technique I saw the other day.  I confess I am not a stamper, but this had me intrigued.  I have used black cardstock and stamped with white ink.  Left to dry and then coloured with some metallic pencils and Kindy Glitz and Stickles.  I did find out that some glitters change colour on black backgrounds, now I need to find some more metallic pencils and use this technique in a black paged journal I am attempting to do this year.  Loved this technique and looks like I will be stamping some more in the future.

My little gift card is entered into the challenge at City Crafter's 'All that Glitters'

Bright and Simple

Thought I'd do a quick and simple card last night, the image is called My Bike and can be found at Robyns Fetish Digital Design . The little bear has been coloured with Copic and Touch Pens.  The balloons, which can be found at Crafty-Emblies are chipboard, which I have painted with watercolours.  All mounted on a glossy orange card.

This card is being entered in top the following challanges -
The Paper Shelter - Celebrations  (because they are celebrating 100 challenges)
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Use an Arrow
