Fathers Day in Australia

Tomorrow is Father's Day and a photo from Just  Inspirational Challenge set me thinking.
I loved the colours and the perspect of the pathway, also someone holding something that protected them.  Bit deep lol.   I started with the background for my card and incorporated a road and bushes from Make It Crafty, called Australia Outback Scene, you can find it HERE.   You get roads, bushes stones etc, which you can then create your own little scene.  I then added some Fir Trees, dragonfly and birds in a nest to complete the scene.  I have used Copic, Touch and Kaiser Pens to colour the image, which I have purposely not kept within the lines as I wanted the colours to be blurred around things, if that makes sense.

Then I created a Father and Daughter holding hands and used my Ecraft to cut out the silhouette.  Mounted on Kraft card and Brown carsdstock I have attached them at the bottom with glue, the torsos with 3d squares, but I have left the heads loose and bent the little girl to be looking up at her father.  (This might be a bit creased as my dear hubby thought I had forgotten to stick it down and tried pushing it into place)

Hope you like my Dad's card

This cute girl is called Misty and you can find her at Stitchy Bears Digital Stamps.   Using up some stash for this one, I coloured Misty with Copic Pens, I have left her plait free, so it moves around a bit when you open the card, the papers and circles were a free gift with a magazine. I have added 3 brads to hold the medallions

My Dad's turning 90

My Dad will be 90 in September, I have designed a top for his cake, it features a baby photo (probably about 7 months old) , I sent it off to a local cake decorating place to be printed in some sort of icing, now it off to the Cake making lady, can't wait to see the finished cake.  When I design the toppers, I am always amazed when I pick them up to see the beautiful coloured result.

My Dads Birthday Cake Topper
Eclectic Ellapu's current them is Birthday Card for an oldie, I thought Dad qualified.  The image is a 1923 Ford, which I have coloured in Copic and Touch Pens,  the design is from the sketch at Digi Sketch this fortnight.  Have a close look at the closeup and you will see windows on the car, I bought these little clear square 3d stickers years ago and they have sat in my stash never to be used,  thought they would bring the car to life.  What do you think?

It's Bright, Beautiful and Inspirational

A few weeks ago I was reminded of a company in Australia (I am presuming there are equivalents around the world) that do Recycling Resources, Kindergartens use them a lot to get cheap supplies, so I went looking and found one about 30 minutes drive from us, so hubby and I went for a lovely drive, and me I went shopping, I got quite a few items and it only cost me $8.00, if you have one of these businesses near you, check them out, you never know what you will find.

One of my finds were 5.5 inch x 7.5 inch bevelled  cardboard matts. Too thick for cards and scrapping but perfect for small wall plaques.

Bevelled Edge

I have used an image from Dilly Beans called Amalia and Crinkles, you can find them HERE.  I have used Copic and Touch pens to colour the image, added hand cut wings, I cut out two lots and then put them back to back so the wings could be sculptured,  added a bit of glitter to flower and a little blue heart to Crinkles.  I have layered Pink and Green card onthe bopard, made a hole at the top for the ribbon to hang the plaque.  Then I got whole lot of flowers and started joining, folding and using glitter on them to create the corners, added lots of bling.

Brown Sugar Challenge No 56 - Bugs

Found this cute Grasshopper at Eureka Stamps, check out the great images HERE.  The grass is a punch, added the little wooden heart and the old Kung Fu saying, (for those that can remember the TV series).  Inside I put some more green paper and another grasshopper, the little butterflies, that you can see at the top of the card when it is opened, are split pins, which hold a hidden fold at the front of the card, behind the grass to make a pocket, where you can put a gift card.(see last picture)

Letter Card

I have made a little note card (4 x 5.5 inches), nothing on the inside just two lovely blank pages for someone to write a letter.  I cannot tell you where the little girl comes from, except she is a rubber stamp that someone gave me to try a couple of years ago.  She has been sitting in a little box for just the right occassion.

I have used Kraft card for the actucal card and for the little pocket in the corner, added some paisley paper to the card and a butterfly of the same colours to the pocket. which has faux stitching

The bookmark carries the image together with a thank you sentiment and brown trims.

Reflections

The image on this simple card is from Eureka Stamps and is called Duck in Reeds, which you can find HERE, they have both rubber and digital available.

I've used the digital image, added it twice, once a bit smaller, then created the reflection in the water, by flipping the images and putting in a filter.  I have coloured the image with copic pens, the reflection is only very lightly coloured. Mounted on some brown and teal cardstock, with some striped teal paper and a sentiment.

Enjoy the little things

This card has an image of trees, flowers, bushes and grass, which I got from Dover.  I have used green and orange copics to colour the image, mounted on two different orange cardstocks and  green paper, layered a scalloped border and some ribbon.  Added some bling and the flowers are some that I have made,   Added a  sentiment to the bottom right hand corner. The green paper has lots of great little sayings, one I was able to arrange just above the sentiment, I'm not sure if that was good planning or good luck, but it seems to work well.

Stamped twice, the only difference was the size of the cardstock I used, Off set the smaller piece to overlay the large one.  Think I will have to do some more of these, quick and easy.

When is Summer Coming

I know Spring is close, the Wattle trees are ablaze with their golden tresses, the daffodils are standing tall and straight, but as always I long for Summer.

This little project is using an image from Rick St Dennis, called Bitsy at the Beach.  You can find Rick's designs HERE.  Bitsy is coloured with Copic pens.  The background is made from watercolour paper on which I have used acrylic and glitter paint.  I cut out a larger bucket and spade, a circle for a ball, made a beachbag with her towel hanging out and added some shells to complete the little beach scene.
