ATC time again
Love it when I make an ATC. Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week is all about Ribbons and Bows and, because my mind works in mysteries ways, I started singing to myself (well sometimes to myself) the old song Buttons and Bows, then realised no that wouldn't do! what will I do! I know said I as the light bulb in my head switched on, and I started singing 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the Old Oak Tree'. Here is my Ribbons and Bows ATC for the challenge. Only lightly coloured with Touch and Copic Pens and some watercolouring, mounted on pale green card, wooden letter buttons and love bird from Crafty Emblies. Who, I am totally in love with, as they make very small elements that I can use on my ATCs. I cut slits into the image and threaded the ribbon through, which has also been coloured with a copic pen, and added some small bows.
Animal Magic
The Paper Shelter challenge this week is all about animals. I have kept it fairly simple, so the little image will stand out and then added lots of bling. I have used Red and Purple papers.
CAS Get Well.
The Perfect Sentiments Challenge this week is for a clean and simple Get Well Card. Here's my bright little CAS get well. An image mounted on some purple and yellow papers. Little mauve heart and rose bud added and of course the sentiment.

Bird Cage
I have a couple of these little bird cages, and thought it was time to use one. They come from Crafty Emblies. I gave the little cage a touch of acrylic paint, added some tiny pink roses, a little butterfly and a fanciful bird, painted with kindy glitter. Mounted on pink paper and then onto a pink flower glitter paper.
Card is entered into:
The Shabby Tea Room challenge - Pink Party, with a photo for the theme. First thing that caught my eye were the little bird houses and mint green ribbon, oval in centre reminded me of the body of my bird.
City Crafters Challene Blog - Wings. Could be Angels, Butterflies etc - I chose Butterflies and a bird.

A small gift
I am making a series of altered matchboxes for a swap. Here is the first one which I am putting in the current Hotshot Craft blog challenge - 'Anything but a card.'
It is a small matchbox, 2" x 1.5", I have used 3 different patterned papers, cheesecloth, rose buds, paper flower, crystal and pearl bling. The inside of the boxes will not be altered, as I want to put some small gifts in each box.

Glue Glue and More glue
This small card features an illustration by Jessie Willcox Smith (c 1916) of' ' Mrs Doasyouwouldbedoneby', one of the fairies in Reverend Charles Kingsleys' 'The Water Babies, A Fairy Tale for a Land Baby'. This is my favourite fairy tale and has been since I was 7 years old, a long long time ago.
If you have never read the story of this little chimney sweep, give yourself and your children a treat.
I have altered the illustration to black and white so that I could colour it with watercolours, I have added some watercoloured sea creatures, some real shells (nearly out of shells, have to take a walk along the beach again next week), even a pearl or two. The matrerial is white cheese cloth with some cream ribbon and blue twine.
This card is entered into the following challenges
Polkadoodles and Studio 12 - Fantasy/Fairy Tale
Robyns Fetish Challenge Blog - Ribbon and Twine
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes - Optional theme - Pile it on

Blackboard Technique
The theme at the City Crafter Challenge Blog this week is 'All that Glitters'. I thought it might be good for me to try a technique I saw the other day. I confess I am not a stamper, but this had me intrigued. I have used black cardstock and stamped with white ink. Left to dry and then coloured with some metallic pencils and Kindy Glitz and Stickles. I did find out that some glitters change colour on black backgrounds, now I need to find some more metallic pencils and use this technique in a black paged journal I am attempting to do this year. Loved this technique and looks like I will be stamping some more in the future.

Thought I'd do a quick and simple card last night, the image is called My Bike and can be found at Robyns Fetish Digital Design . The little bear has been coloured with Copic and Touch Pens. The balloons, which can be found at Crafty-Emblies are chipboard, which I have painted with watercolours. All mounted on a glossy orange card.

Friendship/Love continued....
For my second card for the month of February at The Crafters Cafe, I decided to do an ATC. I've used two precoloured images from Whoopsi Daisy, one look lonely and sad the other very friendly, so I put them together to be friends. The little verse at the top of the card is from an old old song.

Shabby Chic with Flowers
I'm never really sure what exactly Shabby Chic is, seems to be lots of interpretations and I don't think I have ever tried it before, but 2 challenges this week made me think maybe I could try something new.
This sweet little image(Teddy and Me by Tlc creations) has been coloured with Copic and Touch Pens, cut out and lots of lace added. Some pretty sparkly roses, some embroidered rose buds, a ribbon and a sentiment I thought went with the image, 'True Friendship needs no words'.
Entered into these challenges:
Polkadoodles and Studio 12 - Shabby and Chic
Perfect Sentiments Challenge - Floral Fantasia - need to use flowers.
A Blog Named Hero - If I could turn back time - Shabby Chic or Vintage Style

Aqua/Brown and Silver
Over at The Shabby Tea Room they are having a colour challenge. Aqua, brown and a silver element.I've used a pansy image which I have coloured with Copic pens, mounted on some brown and aqua cardstock. My silver element is a little acorn on the bottom left hand corner. Aqua and Brown roses finish of this birthday card. I've just had a look at it on my blog and it looks blue, sorry don't kbnow how to fix it.
Winter - Snow
Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog is asking for Winter cards with snow. Thought I would try something a bit different with this card. The scene I have used came from a colour picture in an old Telephone/Address book I had, I have kept it because I loved the photos. After scanning the photo I then created a digital stamp image from it. I have very lightly highlighted trees and flowers with Touch and Copic pens, I then used a white Montana acrylic pen to draw in the snow drifts onto the scene, mounted on black then onto a white card. Worked really well, just hope you can see it in the photos. I have included a close up.

Pink and Brown at 613 Avenue
613 Avenue Create are having a colour challenge this week - Pink and Brown. The image I have used is called 'Lady who swallowed a fly' a Robyns Fetish Digital Stamp. The little cat and the flowers are from Crafty Emblies, my parcel just arrived today and I couldn't resist using something straight away. Lady is coloured with both Touch and Copic Pens in various shades of pink and brown. Mounted on Pink and Brown Paper (I know it looks black in the photo, but it is a really dark chocolate brown colour)

March Going Green for St Patrick part 2
The Crafters Cafe challenge for March is Green for St Patrick. You can create anything green and/or something with a St Patrick theme. The second image I chose from Rick St Dennis is a beautiful scene called Country Lane Scene. As I have never been to Ireland, but would love to visit, this scene just looked like a little Irish village to me. I have coloured it with watercolours, drawn in some shamrocks and added an Irish blessing. I have also added a pressed shamrock that I had in my stash, I usually dry them about once a year.
Be My Valentine at The Paper Shelter
The Paper Shelter challenge this week is Be My Valentine. This cute little image has been coloured with copic pens, one that I would have coloured last winter whilst sitting warmly beside the fire. All I can tell you is that it is called dance 5. I have now started renaming a lot of new images as I get them with the artists name so that I can give proper credit as a lot of digital images do not come signed or with any indication of the artist.I I stamped the sentiment added some flowers and a bird.

Someones turning 60
Found this fun image "Cockatoo Rules" image to give to my Brother in Law for his 60th. He is not a bikie, but he does love to ride his bike. I've used a drawing paper to print the image on and used a variety of methods of colouring. Coloured pencils, blended with Zest, Touch pens and some silver ink (which hasn't photographed well). I printed the Cockatoo twice, then proceeded to cut out the glasses, exhaust pipes and the front handle bar to do some paper piecing.
Card is being entered into:

February - Friendship
Here is a little white card that I have made. Very light shading in places on the animals, I painted the moon to give it some texture with White Liquid pearls, also add some to the flowers. Added some paper lace and pearls. Hardest part was trying to get a photograph that showed it was white, kept coming out blue.

For Your Eyes Only
This fortnight at Try it on Tuesday the challenge is "Its all about the Eyes", any project but the eyes must featue. I do a lot of digital scrapping, some you see every now and again on this blog. I have 3 grandchildren and I have been creating a series of pages which I digitally designed, get printed and then put those photos into a traditional page. These Albums they will each get when they reach 21. Lucky for me this is one I have just finished, I am entering it into The Try it on Tuesday challenge. The photo is not a good one, taken before I lost a lot of weight and I am leaning forward to get down to Jordan, now only take photos with me looking up lol. But when I saw the photo I realised that we had exactly the same colour blue eyes, hence the page.

February - something different
The Paper Shelter is having a challenge this week called alter something or a card with many folds. I went with the folds. The image I have used is called "Happy Meow Year", which can be found at The Paper Shelter. I have changed the wording on the curtain part of the image to read Happy Meow Birthday, printed the cat part twice, once in reverse. Coloured with Touch pens, added some colourful paper, flowers and a ticket. 5 Folds in my card.
February - A Pink and Blue Birthday for you
Over at The Shabby Tea Room this week the challenge is for a Pink and Blue Birthday, gave me a great opportunity to look through my stash. I created the Happy Birthday with PSE and found some soft pink and blue paper to match up with some flowers, ribbon and a butterfly I had, added bit of bling and a blue cord bow to top it off.
February continues with a Valentine Tag
Over at the Crafters Cafe, Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps and More Discussions we got a cute image called 'Love Bear' to make a Valentine Tag. I'm a bit over all the red, so went for blue instead and the sentiment "Just because......

What do you see for Inspiration
I was asked by my Father ( turns 90 this year) where I get my ideas, what gives me the inspiration to create a project, I couldn't tell him anything except it just pops into my head. Over at CDAC, they have a photo inspiration challenge running until the end of March. I love these challenges as it gives me a chance to see how other people visualise. For me, this photo was about a round yellow shape, a square and stripes, I didn't really notice the flower at all. Here's the inspiration:
I have used a cute image of a little bird from Doodle Pantry called Everyday Birdies, with his round yellow head, he has been printed on textured drawing paper and coloured with pencils, the aqua background has gone through an embosser to give it a patterned texture. I then found some different coloured cardstock that resembled the colours in the photo, not exact, but close and printed a different brithday greeting on each colour. Cut out, stapled together and then the bottom one only is stuck to the cream card, so you can lift the top ones to read the full message.

Cute as a Button
Over at The Shabby Tea Room they are having a challenge which needs to include the colours in a photo and buttons. Here's what I came up with, the cute image is called Bonsai Bear Sleeping, coloured with Touch Pens, mounted on blue cardstock, with same green paper ribbon and white lace at the sides. Berries on the tree are red and I have added buttons to make it an apple tree. Hand written sign.
Gothic Love
Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week is Gothic Love, I've used an image labelled KazGGby Creative mind of Sylive. Printed on textured paper and then coloured with pencils. The photos aren't all that good as the texture of the paper and all the Glossy Accents I used just didn't smile for the camera. I used the accents on the heart, skull and on her boots, lovely patent leather boots for this gothic princess. A bit of ribbon, some washi tape and of course a black rose.
